Not like he took a pay cut either. Still getting near on 800k a year for doing stuff all. I might feel bad for him if we convinced him to take a 50% pay cut with the promise of games but we didn't

I still think we'd prefer a player. What's pick 31 gonna do for us? Grundy for McAdam still feels like unders to me. Swans are super keen and palming him off to them will improve their side. I hope we hold out for more than pick 31, which will end up being mid 30s. Meh..

Yep, agreed.

This won’t happen but I’d just keep him another year unless there was something specific we can get out of moving him on.

We are actually desperate for current talls and a back up ruck so you only move him on if there’s a specific need coming in.. or if he’s disruptive.

I expect that the trade will be done pretty quickly.

We really don’t want him. I think we’ll be happy to move him on. And while it’d be great to get pick around 20 we won’t get that. I see no benefit to hold him. Yes he’s great back up but I think we need to move on. It’ll just create more distraction next year.
And this is nothing like JVR keeping a player like Jefferson out.

Ones projected to get better, the others on the downslide. One has a route into the best team next year, one doesn't. One wants to stay at Melbourne one doesn't

He could’ve had a personal medial issue or violent gastro for all we know. Yes he was at the game but that’s a different story to running around on a footy oval in white shorts.

Lets not jump to the same conclusions as Cornes now. Bloke is on a mission to steer negative media away from Port right now so is going after low hanging fruit like Grundy with a hard on in an attempt to make his opinions sound like fact.

I personally am happy to take pick 31 for Grundy. He's washed up. He's slow and his decision making and execution, especially by hand was diabolical. He got tore apart by 2 Essendon ruckman who kicked 3 goals all on him due to his lack of work rate. I'd swap Grundy for McAdam but in terms of actual trade value, Grundy should be netting us more than what we hand over for McAdam.
