Other clubs work out some scam or loophole to turn their spuds into 1st and 2nd round picks. We seem to routinely just accept whatever we’re given like an orphan holding out a beggar’s bowl in Oliver Twist.

Eh, we've done well out of FA previously and even trades for guys like Toump and Watts got us 2nds.
Gysberts got us Pedo who was a great servant for a few years.

We don't need ruck stocks. No club has good ruck stocks. If we draft a half decent kid ruck we'll lose him for * all to a club who will actually play him

I don’t mind the thought of having a decent prospect to develop. We managed to keep hold of Max Gawn - in fact Melbourne has a good record of developing rucks to the point we’ve needed to trade out some decent second rucks looking for first choice opportunities.

I’d be more than happy to use a late second on Mitch Edwards but my preference is on midfielders and a key defender with our early picks this year.

I don’t mind the thought of having a decent prospect to develop. We managed to keep hold of Max Gawn - in fact Melbourne has a good record of developing rucks to the point we’ve needed to trade out some decent second rucks looking for first choice opportunities.

I personally think using a decent pick on a young ruck would be bloody dumb

These days if you're that tall and can actually move properly and play most teams prefer you to just go and be a foward.

Interestingly, our picks on the right now outweigh the Dogs' picks on the left, with Grundy and Harmes trade compo still to come.

Obviously, it'd depend what we're happy to offer up to GC in terms of future picks, but certainly in with a chance you'd think.
