Welcome our new FF
Looking forward to the media team packaging up 90 seconds of VFL highlights to some royalty free dance music.

Bonus points if the highlights include:
  • A free kick at the top of the goal square resulting in a set shot goal
  • A Joe-the-Goose goal
  • Numerous uncontested marks.

My favourite in draft videos is a midfielder throwing the ball on the boot and then the footage cuts out before you can see the kick is a mongrel punt which goes straight to the opposition.

Pretty much a career highlights video of any of our mids.

ESPN's new rankings. Sounds like Caddy and Wilson tested well at the combine. Specifically mention Melbourne looking to move up for Duursma, though they don't back that up with anything.

Jeez if we throw the bank for pick 1 and get it would need to feel for Jason Taylor a bit. Imagine spending all day everyday of the year scouting the best young kids to find those gems only to end up only having 1 pick and it being the most basic choice that any hobo down the street would know who to take.

I would have expected Caddy to test well. More concerned about fundamentals.

Is Duursma capable of playing a Sheezal type role?

Not really similar players, Sheezal a better field kick, nowhere near as good in the air as Duursma

Taylor would be heavily involved in the decision. We would be asking him if it was worth it, whether the other guys we could get with our picks would be better value etc.

Yeah, me too. I've been campaigning against him for quite a while, though he's turned out to be a much better contested mark than I originally thought he'd be.

I'm still not really on board with the idea, but wouldn't have a major meltdown like I would if we used a premium pick on Watson.

Still, all aboard the McKercher/Curtin/Duursma train. Make it happen.

Should really be no surprise if we are really keen on Duursma after being keen on Humphery last year. Similar types re: ability to take marks in F50 and kick goals.

Hypothetically, would you rather Duursma and some spare change, or a combo of say O'Sullivan and Wilson?

The idea of being able to rotate him and Trac between the forwardline and midfield excites me a lot.

Havent looked into Wilson enough honestly. Will get back to you.

Absolutely, though Duursma may be a little bit away from playing senior mid minutes. Looks more comfortable as a half-forward just for now, and would need to put on a bit of muscle.

Can Curtin play that Daicos/Sheezal role? Jesus isn’t he 194cm? What be an absolute jet if so and we should just hold pick 6 for him
Reckon there's a 10% chance he falls to our pick.
