Pick 10 for Petty in a straight swap is fair value.

We got May and a player for pick 6 just a few years ago and he is a far superior player.

10+20+player for Petty is Dodoro levels of stupid

You wouldn’t give up an established dual position premiership player for pick 10 alone regardless of the queries on him.

If we only lose Petty(and obviously the draft hand we have/will have) and received Reid, Darling and McAdam, then I'm all in. I don't think it will happen, but will be interesting to see how it pans out, as I feel WCE would be nuts to just grab 1 quality kid this draft, when they could gain 4-5 over this draft and next.
WCE have already knocked the Darling rumours on the head officially so I think that's done. But if we did get him we'd be paying him $800k over the next two years, so whatever extra cap space we have going into next year would go straight into his pocket.

If we actually land Reid we will most likely need to be prepared to pay him close to $1m after his first contract is up, so that's another reason not to spend all our money on a big fish.

JUH, Naughton, Darcy, Lobb, English etc. No wonder Croft thought twice about naming Dogs as his preference. I kinda hope Dogs over a ridiculous amount to JUH as it would f* their salary cap. They have Bont and English to pay as well. We're seeing it potentially now at the Dees with Trac, Oliver and Gus on big contracts. It's meant our depth suffers or we can't go and offer a massive contract to poach that forward we desperately need.

Depends on how they have spread the big 3 contracts out. Also, Brown and Tmac going next season. Darlings contract would be up when Reid's next contract comes up I'd be confident we have cap space to satisfy a young talent or two.

Really depends on what happens with Oliver. We desperately need to get him sorted out or our cap will be rooted for the next 7 years.

So who plays key forward in 2024 with JVR as we push for Nm 14? Unless Petty is replaced this trade period with a plug and play quality key forward our chances of winning 14 in 2024 are lower than if he is in the team.

Yeah. That's why we have to ask a high price.

Smith can support JVR. Darling might be an asset, if we fix up our delivery. But losing Petty would still leave a big hole.

If we keep him, then himself and JVR will be our two talls for the next seven years, and we can focus on adding players who know how to deliver to them.

Zane is Fritsch 2.0. Won’t fill any gaps
He has some similarities to Fritsch in terms of height and body shape (Duursma will fill out though) and also the way he reads the ball in the air and hits the scoreboard.

Beyond that though, Duursma is a very crafty player who can move further up the field than Fritsch and he is going to be a better player.

I would be wrapped if we got Duursma.

He did this year, but he used to be great. Don't know why he dropped off. Change of position?

I remember, maybe three years ago, the Dogs forwards being asked whose hands they wanted the ball in when kicking to them They all said McLean.
He sucks.

Brockman deal going through. Didn’t know deals could be done on the weekend?

They do it in other sports don't know why the AFL would be immune.

Geez. Pick 4, future 1st rnd pick by Hawks(most likely top 6) and Brockman. Knocked back. The Eagles pinning all their hopes on picks 2 and 3 from Kangas or taking Reid. Looking at that offer by Hawks, we're no chance of getting pick 1.
North have been smart in making noises that they’ll pick Curtin as it effectively stops WC dealing pick 1 with anyone else unless it’s a ridiculous offer.

West Coast should just trade us pick 1 to spite all the other clubs gunning for it. Thanks for listening to my TED talk

Hawks really tried it on pretending Brockman was a sweetener for the pick 1 deal.
Ended up giving him away basically for free.

He's a decent player, just been injury prone up til now. Good pick up for **** all.
