Would you be surprised if some players are pissed right now and want out? I wouldn't.

I'm sure the contract he was offered had something to do with it, but if he was happy he would have just negotiated a new deal with us when we asked his manager last week.

There are some personal things that are drawing him back closer to home in the coming year (or so).

Adelaide know this and are getting in early which you can’t blame them for.

Petty: guys I’d like to get closer to family in the next year or so and won’t be extending beyond my current contract in 2025. Adelaide are offering me decent money - can I go now?

Melb: totally get it mate but we have no forwards for next year. Stay 1 more year and know that your form will set your price. We’ll get to work on Jamara in the meantime.

I think King is better than McDonald, but they are somewhat similar. Just want LM coz he would be cheaper than King and good enough. Think both of them suit what we currently do better than Jamara does.

We could win a premiership next year though - the club can’t go into the season without a tall forward given the forward line was our weakness last year.
