I'll admit I know jack s**t about the draft, I do like what little I've seen of Leake. The fact that he's linked to Geelong who have a pretty good recruiting record tells me there's something there. I'm already visualising him being a gun at Geelong and the media talking him up as a great pick up.

He seems a very Geelong type of selection doesn't he. Reckon he'll be developed as a Darren Milburn/Joel Corey type if they get him.

Look forward to us drafting him at pick 6 and seeing him announcing at next year's B&F that we're so much better than 2024 Premiers Hawthorn and should've won the flag by 10 goals, despite him not playing a senior game and us finishing 11th.

Leake is more than capable of kicking goals as a half forward option, hes peoven that at Coates League level. He's a unique player with his strong aerial contest and ability to take strong contested marks but also use his speed and athleticism at ground level.

Remind me who was Collingwoods leading goal kicker in the grand final?

I’ll take your word as I don’t watch the Coates league. Just seen highlights more so. But I was going off the draft articles etc that Leake although had played forward and mid was more defender. Windsor perhaps more the goal kicker of the two named.
I was probably more thinking or a Duursma who won’t be there or a Caddy type. But we certainly need to address outside speed. I just think passing on Curtin could be a mistake.

How can you have your own rankings of Curtin and Sanders, despite them being consensus top-10 picks? Do you watch these guys live?

There's 2 guys I don't rate in the top 10. Curtin and Sanders. Anyone else I'd be pumped to get

I see Curtin as a flanker like Troy Chaplin. Chaplin was also a top 10 pick.

Sanders just doesn't seem that good to me. Terrible decision maker. And disposals aren't that great. Athletically he is average. Just gets a stack of it.

I guess high upside being his height and stuff. Athletically he looks ok. I'd take him over Sanders. I prefer Caddy or O'Sullivan over Curtin. But I'll trust whatever Jason Taylor chooses to do.

what's the sanders thing?

God I hope we don't pick Sanders.

Def don't want Sanders. Def don't want an interstate player in Curtin who will get poached in a couple years like Petty.

Yeh I’ve watched all of them live in every game this year. I’ve also interviewed them and undertaken a colonoscopy on their parents.

That's all well and good but I've actually seen plenty of tac cup games this year and 1 or 2 championship games. Even then I'd back in the full time recruiting team.

As I said I don't know much, but I think he could potentially be very flexible. That's probably why his stocks have risen he could probably play anywhere.

It's complicated because the numbers are somewhat flexible.

Not 100% on this, but I think we've currently got 40 players all together, with 5 of them as rookies (if you count Melksham and expect both Turner and McVee to be upgraded).

Primary list needs to be between 36 to 38, total list size between 37 and 44. We've likely got 35 currently as senior list for 2024 (pending the 2 rookies mentioned), and it's been mentioned we're only looking at using 2 actual picks in the draft, so a rough guess would be 2 national draft and 2 rookie spots will be used. Personally I reckon that might depend on if we see Kynan Brown as a ND or rookie prospect.

Petty camp have certainly handled this whole thing in an interesting way. Rarely do you see a contracted player be so open about wanting a move.
