Unless we can pry a KPF or KPD in the MST next year or Trade period next year Windsor and Tholstrup an horror off-season that keeps on giving.

Pretty silly comment mate. Best available is a way better idea than reaching for a KPP way higher than they should be because we need them right away. We're in way more trouble if we're pulling those kinds of moves.

The Windsor/Tholstrup combo is looking pretty clear now.

I like it – skills and speed from one, power and x-factor from the other.

Would love Leake to slip through to our second pick, but looks very unlikely now. Still, would be a good outcome. Based off Twomey's article, looks like we'll be trading out 42 for a future third, again emphasing that we don't rate the mid-back end of this draft.

Will be somewhat disappointed if Kynan is taken by another club

I just hope we are going for best available, rather than picking a couple of good kicks to ‘address our forward entry issues’.

We need to change the way we enter the forward line - I will spew if I see Windsor and Tholstrup dinking it up high into the forward pocket next year!

Sorry did I say O'connell. I meant Connor O'Sullivan

No we need KPPs. Windsor and Tholstrup ain't it. They might aid in the midfield but are useless in either ends. We need to fix our forwardline woes and our ageing defence.

We need to accelerate TMac and BBB exit and provide cover for May, Lever and Petty.

Got to believe we have some KPD defender from another club in the crosshairs next offseason if we are happy to pass on Curtin and O'Sullivan.

Haven't seen a list of guys out of contract but perhaps there are a few? We will have a shit tonne of cap space so can probably outbid every other club and afford to get both a KPD and KPF if Petty was to leave.

Not a fan of trading next years first round pick.

Zak Butters and Ben King are two in particular that are out of contract next year that would cost a 1st round pick as a starting point.

Don't do it Dees.

Windsor and Tholstrup is a bit meh IMO. Like others though, I have more faith in JT and Lamb than in any other section of the club.

Windsor positives:
  • Acceleration and top speed
  • Kicking when in space
  • Tackling
  • Very team-first
Negatives:
  • Agility
  • Hands
  • Composure under pressure
My preference would be Curtin over Windsor (and Sanders or Watson over Curtin) but if Curtin was still available at our pick and WC wanted to trade their future first,
I would do that in a heartbeat.

Heard talk that Essendon are looking to trade back from 9, linked to Adelaide who would give up 10 & 20 to move up one spot.

Mich0 imagine the rage running thru you right now if you were an Adelaide fan.

Anyone else get Jayden Hunt vibes from Windsor?

None whatsoever. For starters, Windsor is a good kick of the ball. Hunt is a dreadful one. Windsor is an intelligent player, Hunt is...not.

Outside of them both being fast, nothing about them is similar.

Really makes me think "Jayden Hunt".

Player comparisons are always stupid and irrelevant. Quoting some pundit’s opinion is equally useless. From the available vision that I’ve watched, his disposal is good (not great) in space - and below average under pressure. I do think he has above average footy IQ and is a very team oriented player. His greatest strength by far is his running power - everything else is good to poor.

We must have been watching different games. I think his disposal under pressure is at worst good. Sure there are some dump kicks and kicks that sail a bit, but you'll see that with almost every player when kicking under pressure, his hands and decision making under pressure are excellent, saw it numerous times where he was plotted his next move in advance of giving the first handball under pressure and would run to the right spot to receive the give and go and turn a 50/50 situation into a counter attack.

The only real knock ive got on him is his kicking on his left foot is weak, but in today's game that is pretty much standard with the majority of players.

I think Jason Gram is a somewhat decent player comparison, that is his floor, but I think his ceiling is higher than that, hes got some very good upside.

Just on this, apparently Essendon are interested in Hardeman, thats why they want to move back, dont want to take him that early. Crows move up one spot for O'Sullivan coz Sydney is sniffing around looking to move up to Essendon's pick also

GWS likely to either trade their pick to WC for Curtin or take Leake. Will be interesting to see what the Cats do, they could and probably will take Leake if he gets past GWS but they can be unpredictable at times and there is a world where Leake could be available at 10 with Essendon on the clock looking to move back again. Jeez id be tempted to move up one spot in such a scenario if Leake was still on the board.

if we can't move up then it wouldn't surprise me if we take Windsor at 6, then if GWS trade 7 to the Eagles so they can grab Curtin, then we'll offer up 11+F1 to the Cats for 8 so we can take Leake.
i don't think we'll care too much about going into next year without a first round pick if we can get two good ones in the door this year.

We also have a whole year to try and extract a ready made KPP from another club now that we know Petty is likely requesting a trade next year. It’s frustrating he wants to go but we’ve got enough time to make a plan around it.
