Simpson was a better choice, could have played 2nd half next season.

We don't need more half back flankers till 2025-26.

I wanted Simpson but I’m not unhappy with adding a running defender

Saad is 30
Docherty is now a mid
Williams is 29
Cowan is a bigger type

Rookie draft Phantom?

If kids are terrible by foot entering a draft you aint changing that now.

You cannot be drafting kids that early that are ball butchers in todays game and look at Dow who we took inside the top 10. He also has the same question marks disposal wise.

VFL player at best. 🤦‍♀️
Dow's kicking was a weakness, what truly killed him was his inability to run both ways or find the ball outside of stoppages.

Oliver, Cripps and Danger I'd all classify as "bad" kicks, and they're three of the best players of the last decade.

Because he probably has more access to information than us, and it's his job to know, and he puts his career on the line by making these decisions. He's got more of a vested interest to get it right, than we do.

Just love the arm chair experts! Neither pick was hesitated, they obviously picked the blokes they identified a long way out. Moir will eventually replace the Martins/Silvani's on the list; Wilson will build into the Saad/Docherty's . You blokes apparantly think there are massive gaps on the list, don't see it myself. Bring on the Campo's next year and we have the next generation already at hand. This represents a complete turn around on our draft thinking, we're planning for the future before our eyes. Just have a look at how 9thmond are playing their hand....
You don't pick players 'a long way out' unless there are extenuating circumstances as to why they might still be available. I just don't see that with our second pick. It seems a reach to me when he won't be replacing a depth player. If he's Saad mark II then I'll eat my hat.

Rookie draft Phantom?

Pick 16 in the rookie draft. Slim pickings. Maybe we have a mature ager on the hook?

Can we use our future rookie draft pick to trade up? 😉

Draft Central site Wilson's kicking as a strength but. Composure as a weakness.

The latter can be gained with experience.

I've had my mourning period now. So long Cooper Simpson. Welcome Billy!

On a serious note, I've had my heart set on so many players over the years that ended up being no good. For all we know Billy plays 200 games and Cooper is a bust.

I dont believe the club deserves blind trust but Austin has been good enough so far that he's got mine for now.

I honestly think this draft is Russian roulette after the top 10-15 picks, just look at how many of the players rated in the 20-30 range haven’t been picked yet.

We have reason to trust Austin at this point, no need to panic that we haven’t picked a player that we simply are guessing are “good”.

The knock on Wilson is contested work and composure. Both can come with physical development and experience.
