can see why Croft would look at his options. He’ll be behind a few at the Bulldogs. In the mid to late first round at the moment he’d be a chance to get to Geelong or Essendon or maybe North with that Port pick.

By the same token Sanders isn’t the best fit at North. They already have LDU, Simpkin, Wardlaw, Phillips, Powell while T Thomas has shown a fair bit on the ball late in the year and they’ll be adding Harley Reid. They probably should move Phillips and Powell on to fill other areas of need if they’re adding Sanders to that lot.

Some info I have is that Riley Hardeman is rated a bit higher by recruiters than he is on BigFooty. I don’t know whether that will end up counting for anything because the WA guys have been going a bit later than they should have over the last few years and keeping landing in the laps of Freo and West Coast.
Arr0w was talking him up last year. Don't know if he is right for us now though, given we brought on Cowan, Hollands and Binns last year, and should get the Campos next year.

If we stripped out the Campo name and looked at both of the twins in isolation against their age group would the general consunsus still be as bullish or is there a bit of just a free father son hit and hope element to it. Have not seen any of their football.

Still rate him highly, but with the players you mentioned and the Campo boys, seems unlikely we call out his name if still on the board

Well, we're not talking top-10 (yet) for either. The interest is that we get access to a couple of players in the 1st-early 3rd round range at a discount. A significant discount if we can work the draft picks well. And yes, there's the history angle with their father a premiership Blue.

Thks Bletch

Reid is an interesting prospect. AFL ready
But has he shown any real improvement from the big bodied player he was last year?
Didn’t dominate at the champs. Kicked a few goals he will find harder to do at AFL level
I reckon WC pounces on local boy, Curtin.
Then is Reid the type that North need most?

Could we possibly snag it? Some COMBINATION from Motlop, Fisher, Carrol, 2023 1st, 2024 1st? Fear they will cherish Curtin though and not want to drop to low myself.
throw in princes park ya reckon?

Hypothetically, would we pick Curtin over Reid?
I think he might suit our needs more.

I would, DNW Reid (don’t like his vibe - been discussing elsewhere)

KPD, Forward/mid and/or balanced mid (could accept KPF and repurpose Lemmey).

A but unclear of the quality that may be available at our pick(s)

All they would get would be late future picks like last year

Pick 1, future 1st for picks 2 and 3 would be a starting point
Isn’t the AFL’s assistance package about immediate help not potential or future. That’s still 2 elite players for 1 this year. Reid is potentially generational, but so are the Top 5. My argument is it doesn’t fit the AFL narrative. Yeah it works on potential, but that’s not consistent if they have their hand out.

I’d just been watching some clips of Finn O’Sullivan and was wondering how did this guy not get invited to a combine?
Then realised he’s not eligible until next year. That’s a shame.

Yeah, most draft watchers have him numero uno next year.

Might have already struck a deal with North

Some suggest that it's Hawthorn and involves Picks 3*, future 1st and Brockman with a few other moving pieces maybe involved.

North can basically force the issue. Send someone over and have 2 or 3 interviews with Curtin. Make it plain they have an interest. Then if WCE want him they either have to take him at 1, or deal with North - and it's not likely to be a deal of the magnitude spoken about earlier - more likely a 1 for 2, with a single later pick thrown in, prob around the 20-30 range. Can't see why North would give away more than that, might even be less.
