Is this description of Christian Mardini or Will Dawson?
He is spruiking Mardini. I saw glimpses through the championships. Not a stand out, but plenty to work with, and if he is now over 200cm, has been through a growth spurt. Played as a deep defender by VIC Metro in a couple of appearances, had the impression he was a little fixated on his role rather than some of the other boys happy to display individual auditions.

Can see a world in which he is given a chance late, maybe even as a rookie if we promote two. There are a number of possible candidates as KPD with limited exposure to date the two you named are in that mix. If he doesn’t get drafted, from the local area, and loves the club, surely a big chance for the VFL side to oversee his development.

He did train with our vfl side at various stages through the year

Thank you for the clarification. Will Dawson‘a profile on Draft Me sounds pretty interesting- able to play back, forward, and ruck. Looks quite imposing in the photo too. Could be one to keep an eye on later in the draft.

I like Murphy as a long term prospect, but Coona is right, might be gone by our pick
Can't believe he wasn't still available at our pick.....

The "vanilla" qualities of Ollie Murphy are a positive for a young key defender. He appears to do many of the basics well for 100 minutes. I think you can coach the "polish" like taking the game on. I don't have a context of the whole draft but this would be a solid KPP with a pick around 20.
This guy has great potential, watched his game against WA has raw Athletic ability don’t think he will be available at 20 though

I’m confused why we signed Pitto for another 4 years - I see him as a dinosaur of the modern game, slow and cumbersome. TDK is modern day, but Im not sure if O’Keefe or Mirkov come on either. Should we invest in an Archer Reid type. Can play both ends - prototypical Fwd yes - but can play ruck and is very agile. Talent undeniable.

Pitto is a stop gap for me, Mirkov I have never rated to play at the next level

O'Keffee will be a better forward/ruck than TDK IMHO, just needs time to build a body

I see pitto as stop gap until our cap is ready to use again and tdk is ready to takeover

Have you had a look at Archer Reid? Comparison to O’Keefe??

Compared to O'Keeffe a more natural footballer, quicker, but either doesn't have a leap or doesn't use it, poor 2nd efforts

Mid 2nd rounder for me

Given our list needs I would prefer a KPD first and foremost

Fair call on the KPD, personally, I would go mature for KPD depth - One O. McDonald, VFL FB of year and unlucky to be cut ex-Blue, would be worth a revisit. Can play Fwd too.

I know Archer and think he’d be a great development piece at either end or in the ruck. Lazy at U18 can be transformed in the pros.

Id also consider split the pick and take a fly on Simpson (mid) and Dirty Sanchez (SF).

Thoughts on either of those or Arie Schumacher. (Yeah I know - It’s Show-‘em-maker)

He's an athlete first and footballer second,
if he could gain AFL level footy nous he'd be a good chance to make it, I too doubt he will though...

I have some friends that know him and he's still not been given the green light from his operation yet...

Would we need to trade up for that to happen. I feel the ones I want will be gone

Given we have 4 list spots I would say our biggest needs (in order) are:

1. 2 x Half Forwards (1 x medium marking option, 1 x speedier type that can up push into the midfield)
2. Mature Key Forward
3. 1 x Half Back (Running type that is speedy with good disposal)
Which is why I'm pretty keen on Koen Sanchez with our first pick. For mine, he's the next best smaller forward this year behind the Wizard Watson, who'll be well gone before our first pick. Thought Sanchez was really impressive in the Championship this year.

If we're looking for a running type half back/mid, Billy Wilson from the Dandy Stingrays is one who should be available a bit later in the draft. Didn't have a great Championship, but apparently played some great footy later in the year and in the U18 finals. The only knock on him from PMBangers is that he needs to work on his disposal, especially under pressure.

I'll admit I'm a bit biased because he's a local from down this way and I know his family. He missed out on an invite to the National Combine, but did get an invite to the State Combine and apparently getting interest from a number of clubs.

Yep, I really like Sanchez too. He’s got a bit of Tiprat Milne in him. Natural footballer.
