I've finally started watching some champs games and agree with coona, not overly enamoured with this pool, Sanchez would be one I'm looking at with those picks

Don't mind that if we're going in with a list of desirable traits rather than a strict positional need. Good understudy for Adam Saad as a genuinely quick rebounding backman with solid defensive skills.

Yep. Also says we are interested in Collard but he's unlikely to fall to us.

Does this work for you?
It comes up the same for when I tried, some text, but the whole draft is blank?
No. They've hidden the actual content behind a veil of secrecy.

I'm a huge rap for Lual, although I'm not sure if he meets our list requirements given we've just recruited the Irish lads - Duffy probably earmarked for the running half back role.

I've seen a few phantoms having us take Jiath with our first pick - from what I've seen, he still looks a bit raw and not a 1st round pick. Lual for mine would be the better option of we were going down that path, although I'm still a fan of Billy Wilson.

Is a bit of a joke that the player we take with our first pick, at either 27 or 28 in the draft, will for evermore be considered a "First Rounder". And we should definitely keep that in mind when assessing who we can get here - it'll be about the same point in the draft that we took Cowan, Motlop, TDK and Fisher. Technically a first rounder, in actuality a mid-second-round prospect.

Don't have the picks. Best we could do if we wanted to sell the farm would be 21,27, F1. Cats will get much better offers or use it themselves.

All depends on who ends up being available at the pick on draft night, but I definitely see us being a strong contender.

The only other obvious candidate that I can see would be North who have 15, 17, and 18 to play with. I can't see them putting in an offer greater than ours unless Sanders slips to that pick, in which case I think Geelong would just take him.

There would be plenty of sides around the 10-15 mark that would entertain trading up the draft if the right player was there. And I think that's what Geelong would be looking for if they wanted to trade. A slight slide down the order for something good next year or maybe a big slide for something very good next year. We can't offer either. Our picks will almost be in the 30s once bids are done and our pick next year won't be valued that highly given where we are projected to finish.

I know there has been a lot of talk on this board and I don't doubt that Austin will try but when I take my navy-blue glasses off it just seems completely unrealistic. Would love to be wrong though.

Latest ESPN draft says we take Moir, the SF from South Australia.

I guess time will tell. I see us being able to Steven Bradbury our way into this pick. There are teams that definitely could put in a better offer than us, but I don't see it happening due to various factors with those teams in the 10-15 range:

#10 - Crows don't seem likely to want to jump two spots given they have 10 and 14.
#11 - Demons would likely want to use this pick to get higher up the order than 8.
#12 - Swans maybe, but not sure they'd be interested paying the cost to move up a few spots or want the players available at 8.
#13 - Saints same as above.
#14 - Crows again.
#15 - North whose situation I have already touched on.

I think our offer of 22, 28, and F1 is much more competitive than you're giving it credit for. Especially when you consider the other potential offers and the phase Geelong are in with their list build.

Poor disposal…(as per The Age)? Shouldn’t be looking at players that fall into that category.

It is only really fluff pieces or opposition supporters that love to use those metrics for any conversations.

Carlton have 10 first round picks on their list, they should win a flag this year...

Saints just gained a first round pick from us(Dow), does not mean a heap.

Haven't suggestions of "poor" disposal, just that it's improved this year and has scope to improve further.

That being said, I haven't seen him play, so maybe there's a bit of conservative recruiter-speak about it, and the between the lines feedback is that he can't kick?

I reckon you're unlikely to get easy access to a player with both elite speed and elite disposal. If you can find one with both, then good luck if you think they'll also be an elite defender. If Lual can get his disposal into the "neat" range, then that combined with his pace makes him a weapon.

Lual breaking lines and having hard running options like Walsh, Acres, Hollands (x2), Cottrell, Binns, Charlie and Harry presenting as options ahead of the ball...he doesn't need to be able to thread the needle, just put it out in front.

Yeah im of the view now, that we may look to trade a future pick for another 2nd this year.

Similar to what we did with Cowan.

That would give us 3 good quality draftees.

That's supposing we have 3 picks, which I know is up for debate currently.
