I'm assuming if he was listed he can go on the inactive list after the draft and before the SSP period starts. He can't go on the Inactive list yet, so we would only have the extra spot currently if we haven't listed him at all

There will be a set date for opening of the Inactive List. Haven't seen that published though. In the past, around Dec 1. Possibly same time as the SSP starts. But it's not automatically at end of the draft/rookie draft.I'm assuming if he was listed he can go on the inactive list after the draft and before the SSP period starts.
100%. My read too taking personal preferences and “rumours”.
The only other I have, for needs is a Zakostelsky key position type, but no links around. There are some superb ruck prospects around our mark, but they would be surplus to needs with O’Keeffe showing sufficient promise.
There are some decent players around our range, and not many would be “wrong”, but a dashing mid with breakaway speed who is somewhat dual sided and a quality slider like Moir who can be potent deep forward, as well as offering “next level” dual sided disposal are most attractive. I was not high on Moir early after his fall from grace, but doing multiple “Phantoms”, when push came to shove, on analysis he fits our need profile best of the candidates in the range.
Yes, unless he's listed as Cat B, then I don't think we get a replacement.I'm assuming if he was listed he can go on the inactive list after the draft and before the SSP period starts.

See this is part of my thinking why we need to take a Mitch Edwards.
He's the new generation of rucks - not 201, 202cm, but 207cm (and maybe will grow a bit more)?
He's already got a very strong reputation as an around the ground contested mark.
And has shown ability up forward too. Plus good at ground level and decent skills (contrast to Pitto's shocking kicking)
Mirkov is hopeless around the ground - let's be honest. 30/70 as to whether he makes it imo.
O'Keeffe?
From what I've read he's showing promise, but never have I read he's a terrific contested mark? (feel free...)
I'd be grabbing Edwards every day of the week.
Has elite written all over him. imho.

Nor do I normally.I don't think carrying 3 project rucks is good list management.

Do you think Mirkov will make it? I don't... heart issues aside (and I wish him the best).
Could Edwards play a few games of seniors in 2024? Why not!

Would be shocked if we took a project ruck.
Unless Mirkov is going inactive and we are taking two SSP's

Anyone else noticed that Cal Twomey doesn't mention Carlton at all in his form guide, that's a good thing to me, Austin must be playing his cards close to his chest !!
I would love Ollie Murphy to slide to us, that is my dream 1st pick. George Stevens reads well for me and Ashton Moir looks an intriguing pick!
Good to see you HBF
Nah, I just pull names out of a hat
If I was running a club, and a talent identifier hitting a 75% success rate, they would be the highest paid staff member
2 out of 3 is a strong pass mark
He might be an upgrade on Lochie O’Brien.

They don’t need to do the trade until pick 7 is due, no risk.
It would be great business, even if the F1 becomes pick 1. They fast track the rebuild. Curtin would be a great investment for any side. He is going to be a top liner. Star V superstar is the only question.
The added attraction of Curtin is that he may be KPD first, but a legitimate midfielder as well as showing sufficient playing key forward. Wet Toast have “enough” developing backs, so they would have options where to deploy him if those players come on adequately. It would not be over subscribing in any position.
He is a WA boy, and as such is a great investment for a WA club. There are no top 10 WA boys on the horizon for next year at this stage Bo Allan probably the head of the class would currently only be a possible first rounder.

I understand that his sprint testing has concerned some suitorsGoing by ESPN’s phantom, O.Murphy in the 30’s…
From my understanding Brisbane will trade for 24 and Fremantle for a pic in the 30's as per Cal TwomeyFyi
Freo and Bris look likely to trade with GC for the picks between our two. Which means there will be 4 teams between our picks rather than 2

Reports suggest Brisbane will target a ruck (rumoured Green) at this pick, which makes perfect sense given “The Big O’s” vintage. Therefore won’t do us any harm. From my understanding Brisbane will trade for 24 and Fremantle for a pic in the 30's as per Cal Twomey
