Gulden is 36% owned now. Tempted to fade lol
I’m tempted too but the way I see it is I was on him before the 180 so I can’t really fade now. I wanted him in my side so I can’t jump off just because everyone has jumped on.
If he turns out to be a bust that’s fine, at least I’ll know it was a mistake from the start.
If he fires and I don’t have him I’ll be kicking myself.

If you weren’t big on him before the big score it’s definitely a play to fade.

Fanfooty is cooked on my phone so I can't check but how will Gulden go playing at the SCG? Not much space for an outside mid like Gulden?

Not the best average but have to remember it looks like he is getting a role change so take it with a grain of salt. His 155 and 80 last year were playing predominately wing from memory

Thanks for that.

I also don't think Gulden gets enough centre bounce attendances to warrant picking him. He has a small frame (176cm) and not many clubs are willing to run pint sized mids through the centre bounces for consistent periods of time.

Theres certainly an argument against him. But I think the positives outweigh the negatives. Third year breakout this year, should get more than 10% CBA this year which is what he had last year - almost has to after that showing. With more CBA’s means more tackles which should theoretically lift his floor. Is a talented player despite his small size

My worry with Gulden is that he absolutely HAS to see that uptick in CBAs for the pick to work.

People will point to his last 5 on the wing last year when he averaged 95 and say that isn’t true, but you have to remember that average was significantly inflated by his 155 when he feasted on a Giants side that had completely given up. His other scores were a 64, a pair of 80s and a 93. 82, 103, 55 in finals.

Every chance he improves and breaks out, but increased CBAs are essential for that to happen I believe. That wing role from late last year won’t cut it.

Any reason why McClean interest has cooled off? Also have we reached a consensus on Bruhn vs Flanders haha

I'm still on McLean. One bad half of a preseason match doesn't outweigh the "lock" status he held going into that game.

The counter argument to this is he didn't have any CBAs in the pre-season game, and scored poor overall (mainly in the first half). However I do think we put an over emphasis on CBAs at times.

I also have McLean but it's basically a case of 'there's no one else' - you either go down to a Phillipou who fills me with dread playing FWD in a highly depleted Saints team, or up to a Bruhn/Horne-Francis who just seem too expensive given their likely scoring output.

Selby is an advocate for going all 5 FWD premos to start, but that trashes my midfield so can't go that far.

Feeling very nostalgic for last year with Brodie, Xerri, C. Curnow, Naish and Stengle as all great sub $400K FWD picks (plus Nic Martin at basement rates).

i need someone under 700k for F3
looking at fallen guns - could you go:
Ziebell @ 537k
Walters @ 565k
fyfe @ 681k
fritsch @ 495k
wingard 469k

dont mind cunnington @ 668k

or just go a mid pricer like JHF / Powell (got bruhn F4)

All terrible options to be honest except maybe Cunnington. Those fallen guns are long past their prime. Ziebell and Walters need to retire, Fyfe plays mostly forward and has the body of a 50 year old. Fritsch plays key forward and Wingard won't score well without midfield time.

I'd take Mclean or JHF without blinking.

So McClean out has ruined me haha
Did Rozee change position from R17 last year or just got better?
Thinking of going Gulden/Rozzee/McClean to JHF/Flanders/Bruhn....
