I hope the captain can muster up some fire in the belly this year because with such a tough start, the pressure will be off the charts. The pafc hierarchy should be a bit concerned because if we know one thing about this group, is that they do not respond well to pressure.

The AFL obviously doesn't see our 2022 season as a true indication of where we are at as a team and so didn't give us a cushy draw. Oh well.
You've also got to understand that the AFL specifically rigs these fixtures so that the teams it believes should be playing finals will play each other in the last few rounds to establish interest in matches all the way until the end of the season. If you look at the last eight games, you'll get a fair idea of who they think should be playing finals (or still be in contention for them).
Geelong - Sydney twice, Collingwood twice, Fremantle twice, Western Bulldogs twice, Port Adelaide twice, Essendon twice (6 double ups) - typically, the AFL gives Geelong another reach around. When was the last time all of Ports double ups were Victorian sides (and Adelaide obviously)?
So 9 clubs play an extra game? Can you explain this logic here?

AFL has completely nailed this fix
- the AFL wants Carlton to play finals. Maybe Carlton can come through for the VFL after they have backed Essendon in the last few years.
- the AFL doesn’t want to hand out 2023 priority picks, so if all the clubs Norths hold picks for don’t go well, problem solved. (Still prefer to have JHF)
- the AFL still hates the match day supporter in favour of the tv networks. Not naming the whole season sucks. If you want to travel for a game, you cant plan it…. So more eye balls on screens and less gate receipts…. Where does that revenue go? (Not to the Adelaide oval stadium authority)
