Have we upped expectations finally? I thought the trigger for another 4 years was Donuts showing up to work at least once this pre season

We haven’t even played a game in NSW since Round 2, 2018.

Think we were supposed to play them in Sydney in 2021 but got moved to Marvel due to Covid

yer, we were - lost it to the hub and it was strange we didn’t have a nsw game in 2022 (seemed like Port playEd everywhere else this year).

For this long suffering Sydney-based Port fan, I’m pretty happy to see a game at the SCG. my Sydney-based 8 year old nephew needs an education….

This time last year I would not have had Fremantle, Collingwood or even Sydney as certainties for the eight yet they made it and the latter two made the top four. Our draw looks tough and once again we start the year with some hard games but hopefully it will not be another 0-5 start. Important that we get away to a good start by beating Brisbane at Adelaide.

How can any organisation anywhere in world sport countenance a draw where a team does not meet two of it's rivals until rounds 22 & 23 in a 24 round competition yet plays the previous season's Premiers twice in seven weeks? I guess the answer is simple- brand itself the AFL.

I'm happy with the draw. Better for our finances and sponsors if we player the bigger Vic clubs more often.

As others have mentioned, who would've picked Collingwood to do what they did last year hence its possible our draw might turn out to be softer after 1 or 2 or 3 expected top 8 teams misfire and don't make the 8.

It was literally zero degrees during that game. And raining. I was sinking into the outer, could not feel my hands or feet.

Adelaide Oval has seagulls, Ballarat has penguins.

Meanwhile some people are never ****ing satisfied...

I would have thought that the Tasmanian Government and the former Liberal Premier have a bigger problem selling a $750 million stadium to the electorate than worrying about a draw in which a Tasmanian team isn't yet directly involved. At the last ask 67% of the Tasmanian electorate and Gutwein's own party in the form of the Federal Liberal Party were not in favour of the proposed $750 million stadium.

Carlton away, Collingwood at home, Home showdown into Geelong away.

That’s a though month of footy. Especially if all teams play as expected.

I think I am going to target round 2 v Collingwood to head to Melbourne.

I have a junior Port Adelaide supporter arriving in May, so options are limited. Can’t stand Collingwood supporters, but I’ll fly my mum across and make a day of it.
