my mistake - i didnt even read the hawthorn location as i assumed we'd be playing them at home - cant recall the last time we had a home game against hawthorn and im assuming theres queensland hawks fans who have missed watching their team for a long time!

Not sure there are any, since the Hodge family converted to Lions supporters.:)
I have some friends where the husband is a Hawk, the wife is a Don (they moved up from Melb a few years back) and have recently had a little girl ... naturally there is some 'discussion' about which team she will follow ... I suggested that the fairest would be for them to raise her as a Lion since she was born in Brisbane and will get to see her team play in games more than a few times per decade ...

FFS Still using that upside-down 2 for a 5. Cancelling my membership.:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:
Have a look at it with your head stuck up your arse, looks right way around then

Hello Lions fans I live in Mount Barker SA and am looking for tickets to the round 5 game v North. Any members willing to sell me theirs? Thanks in advance

Fantastic fixture. Best we’ve had in years.

6 Melbourne games, 2 at the G
6 prime time in the first 15 weeks
No trips to Tasmania, Geelong or Ballarat
No double ups against Geelong, Richmond, Carlton, or Sydney - all strong chances to finish in the top 6
Double ups against Gold Coast, St Kilda, Adelaide - teams we’ve had the wood over recently
Double ups against Fremantle and Collingwood - I’m not convinced they will be as good as they were this year
2 of our last 3 games at the Gabba
1 trip to Perth

Fantastic.

When was the last time we played the Eagles in Perth??

I have gone through the fixture list with my analysis matrix and have calculated that there are 24 danger games coming up next year. If we lose any of these danger games there will be much throwing of toys out of cots, babies with the bath water and lids will firmly remain shut. Fagan better not lose any of these danger games for there will surely be calls for his head.

Best fixture we've had in years without getting too presumptuous about who'll be good and who won't in '23.

The first 4 rounds are reasonably challenging but then a good run into the bye.

I’m convinced this is the year Gold Coast are finally “good” after their performance last year, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they jump us in one of the q clashes

Below another fixture format taken from footywire with some adjustments made by me
All times are local, and from round 16 all dates & times are TBC
I think it is important that we win these 12 games (marked W)
Should the remaining 11 fall 50/50 or say 6 wins that's 18 which puts us in a similar position as last year
Hopefully we do better than 6, but that will be an OK position going into finals

Essendon don’t get their usual number of prime time games but get 2x North, GWS, and Eagles.

It can’t be that difficult to ensure 1 team doesn’t play the bottom 3 twice?
I reckon it's all extremely difficult, which is probably a big reason why it takes so long to come out. If each team is allowed 3 requests that's 54 things the AFL needs to weigh up, and even then it's after broadcasting considerations, 5/6 day breaks, travel, the fact 9 teams share 2 grounds etc. I reckon it's an absolute nightmare, that's why they hire an external mob to sort it out, and then they have their hands full. I bet they find doing the NFL a bit of a doddle by comparison.

Got my email letting me know how to access Gather Round tickets, with a code.

I couldn’t give two *s about that, I just want to know how many games we have in Melbourne FFS.
I only renewed my membership last night. Does anyone know if I'll get a code for this match? Or am I best calling the club tomorrow morning?

Just out of interest I looked at all the other inter state cl7bs games in Melbourne. No one has more than 6 although Port have 6 in Melbourne plus 1 in Geelong.

Sydney the other club with a significant Victorian supporter base have 5 in Melbourne plus Geelong

Adelaide have 3 in Melbourne plus Ballarat and Geelong
