We were never going to carry another ruck on the list with Stanley, Ceglar, Conway, Neale, Blicavs and Ratugolea.

You might not like those options but they are the ones the club entrusted. They had no interest in another ruck. It was not foreseeable that we’d be in this position, not in the slightest.

Blicavs is too valuable to waste solely on rucking.
Rata is not a ruck anymore hes a kpd (and scott basically admitted we need to settle him in that spot for his own development)
Neale is not a ruck hes a kpf who pinch hits
We knew ceglar was physically cooked last year.
Conway missed a lot of last year and was never going to be afl ready this year even before the injury and stanley is in his twilight.

So that list is very thin-not carrying an extra ruck was asking for trouble and has proved so. It was very forseeable particularly given the age profile of our rucks (all aged 32 or over or 21 or younger) its incorrect to say it wasnt forseeable unless the club was ignoring the obvious.

Again, you not liking the list doesn’t align with the club’s view of their ruck options. They believed they had plenty and were NEVER in the market for another one.

They are entitled to that view.
But you have own that view and admit when you took a risk and it backfired rather than trying to pretend there was no forseeable risk or that they had plenty of quality cover when they didnt. Save that kind of spin for the politicians.

They are literally playing the bloke they brought in as a backup every week. I’m sure the furthest thing from their mind is that it backfired.

You mean the backup who is moving like a 50yo.

If they are not thinking about the fact that it backfired they should be.

That was a 2021 decision (mistake). You have been banging on about bringing in a ruck in 2022. That was never going to happen in part because of the commitment to Ceglar.

You called it!!! Post of the week

Looks like sav out (hopefully only misses a couple of games thanks to the bye.

But hopefully we will get danger rohan and bowes back next week.

Half time of the Tigers game it was reported Danger wont play this week, they don't want to risk him before the bye. Not sure if legitimate or just throw away.

Let's assume it's true.....do we have the luxury of avoiding risk??

Can we afford to drop another game?
Yes and Yes.
5-7 isn’t the end of our campaign.
11 games to go. A 9-2 finish with a good run free from injury and a bit of Lady Luck 🍀
Sees us at 14-9 7th spot.. maybe 8th.

It makes sense, I reckon they've always been hoping to take him to the bye, it's an extra weeks rest/conditioning without missing an extra game.

Based on the last few weeks I really don't see how we beat Bulldogs without him. I genuinely believe its Danger vs the Medicos. He wants to play and thinks he is ready to go and knows how much the club needs him, but medicos want to stick to their pre-determined timeline. Lets see who wins.

I thought the experiment of having SDK & Blicavs doing the rucking worked well until Sam got injured.

Has a team ever charged home and won the flag from 5-7?? Assuming we lose this week??

Not that I recall.....but then I wouldn't trust myself to recall that detail.

It'd be a hell of a run home to do that, but we DO get some players back soon, and as Pure_Ownage has pointed out, the quality of the overall competition isn't that great.

Pies aside, everyone else is bumbling along, so anything is possible, but everything is going to have to fall into place as neat as a pin.

Yeah they looked incredible against Gold Coast.
Completely different conditions to their home ground which is where the game is at.
If anything hopefully they are slightly fatigued but I wouldn’t put much emphasis on them losing that.

If danger is fit, you play him. It’s really that simple. It’s ridiculous of our club just to assume we get on some run again. We might cop more injuries later in the year and wished we played Danger when we had the chance.
Without him we lose to dogs, we won’t beat Port away with or without him and still have lions away and Pies at the G.
From there we must win every single game just to make finals.
12 wins and it’s out of our hands if we make it or not. A lot of teams around us have very easy fixtures.

Yeah and for all that, just like the 5 upsets this weekend, we are a chance at upsetting Bulldogs next week. They've not beaten many teams of note either - "Road worriers" Brisbane or a depleted Adelaide side maybe.

I say this on the assumption Danger will play this week.

"This bad thing could happen..and maybe that bad thing too!" Amazing that after some adversity supporters fall into these mental traps.

We might beat Bulldogs, surprise Port over there (Essendon and Melbourne got close) and win our next home game too. Who knows. 12 wins and a strong % may earn finals, 13 certainly will. 12 games left to shoot for 8 wins. Not impossible. We are not the only team stumbling or inconsistent.

I think you have to roll the dice on danger and rohan given our season is on the line the next couple of weeks.

Bowes might be the one we hold back given he has done the calf this year twice already...but who knows.

Anyone heard that Jack Henry may have been injured on Saturday?
