Must've been one hell of a fracture.

From what an insider has reported here the facture itself is healing/has healed fine but he is still struggling with vision problems.
Which is why i think we will have to draft a mature ruck next week for cover.

The sky is falling
The Cats are stalling
The fans are bawling
The finals are calling
It's all enthralling

Injuries have hit geelong
Everything has gone wrong
Now playing the kids
The season's gone skids
Payoff is they bounce back strong

That's more like Limerick for you, rather than a footy Haiku.

Nice to see them finally acknowledge kroeger actually exists and has a hip injury.
Agree it was nice to hear his name! although I fear we may not see him again if we are half way through season and he isn’t load bearing yet. They won’t know his prognosis really until he gets past that point?

Im really not sure what hes been doing for the last 6 months if hes only on the alter G now. Seems like slow progress.

Stanley had to be the most injury prone ruckman in the comp.

Has he ever been through a season without some type of injury? And ones not even specific to ruck duties.

Well, we needed someone to step up after Ottens retired. Big Rhys has certainly delivered in this aspect!

The other comment that really worried me from Lloyd was on Toby. I am slowly learning to read Lloyd‘s cryptic comments that make no sense other than in hindsight. He says something that sounds like a thought bubble (when in fact I think he is almost as good as Scott and everything is carefully crafted) and no big deal but then when you look back he was actually saying something bad…

In this case he made a big deal that it was more important to get training into Toby than games. I won’t be surprised if Toby is out of games for a lot longer than I had originally heard (round 13) and they put him on ice to build him up properly for the long run. Will be sad if we don’t see much of him this year.

If you think about it only Mitch and Dempsey (the to skinny blond kids) from the last few drafts have been resilient and only missed games as holdbacks I think. Everyone else have missed multiple games since drafted (a lot of them more than they have played!)

Let’s hope “Bruce“ is now over the hump and joins them as a trio of available players…

From things I've read & chats with others, sounds like Flynn's been dealing with setbacks

It seems he had tried returning to training but his hip wasn't exactly allowing him to do that

Based on what Lloyd said today, sounds like it's a case of going back to the beginning, start building again and slowly step it up

No it isn't and nor should it. Danger, Rohan and SDK are big chances to play this week as are Bowes and Guthrie.

We've still got another 7 games at home.

Have faith.

catempire did say before the Freo game that a few might be upset with being 5-5. It looks like he was on the money.
At the moment Collingwood, Brisbane and Port look really good - but none are infallible. Anything could happen with the rest of the pack or even one of those leaders dropping off - Port and Brisbane are prone to road slumps.

The previous two matches have been disappointing even accounting for injuries. Just like the first three were. I expect we'll bounce back again and could very well be 8-5 in a few weeks. Let's see.

To reinforce your point…just need to back to last year

Melbourne unbackable at 10 and zero
St Kilda was 8-3 and resigned coach (missed finals and sacked coach at end of year)
Carlton were 8-2 (and 9-3) and didn’t make finals…

Collingwood were 5-5 and Geelong 5-4 and ended up being the best two teams by year end?
Swans 6-4 and made GF

So really round 10 is a pretty poor reflection of the year of the year? GF from last year were both 6 and 4 and other Prelim were 5-5 and 8-2 (so they only one who probably looked like top 4 that actually made it)

makes sense…but what do you think back to the beginning means for the poor kid only 4 months away from end of contract?

Im just glad it wasnt another hammy for Holmes, you would start to question his longevity if he did that again.
Given his hammy's haven't actually gone and its been back related nerve issues effecting / cramping the hammy.... a true hammy issue as I understand it would be new

Regarding Conway, it was good to hear that Otto and Jerka have been working with him on craft - and that he's training against Cegs and Blitz.

Would I prefer to see him fully fit and playing games - yes - but the bloke is young... should have a long career and he's learning a lot still... cant be that bad an outcome.

Granted, blowing the entire 23 season with no games aint great but if it sets him for a prime 14 more years.. ill take the wait.

And we need him to be dominant when the time comes -his skills, height and size should allow it.

Spot on. We've used up our spare lives and have a number of strong teams to face, but as a starting position to start a "run", nothing is irredeemable yet. Of course if these injury issues stay more or less the same for the back end of the year we are probably toast. A world where we get Dangerfield, Guthrie, Rohan and De Koning back soon and no big fresh absences...I think we can put a really good run together once again.

If what I read last week is even 50% accurate, then right now there could well be more of a focus life outside of football compared with when he may pull on the Hoops for a second time

I don't know what the Clubs thinking in regards to Flynn's future beyond this year, but looking at how we've supported injured players in past years, I wouldn't be surprised if we looked at something like delisting & rookie list addition
