I was very bullish on the Saints and had them fourth in my last Bigfooty prediction in January-ish. They obviously won't get that high but I'm satisfied with a finals berth. They have great young players and plenty of good middle-age players.

Not a flex though, I'll cop that I had Melbourne and Port Adelaide at 9th and 10th on the same ladder, and GWS 17th.

Arguably the weakest top eight team since . . . . maybe when Carlton were allowed to play finals by default 2013. Then again, Carlton went on to beat Richmond (lol) so can't really compare them to that team either.

You've been saying this all year. Surely you expected to beat us last night then? Instead the only thing that stopped you losing by ten goals was our inaccuracy.

Saints are a side with bugger all talent but simply try their hardest every week. When other teams apply similar heat they don't have the list to get on top.

Can't imagine that stacks up in finals barring them coming up against a team thats overawed by the occasion or a bit off.

St Kilda have a lot of good talent, they just lack elite talent. The 3-5 players that the top teams have that makes them stand out is what the Saints don't have
