ok hypothetical.

let's say we know Doedee is going to leave as a FA.

and we court Mason Redman.

Do we have the discussion with Ess that we will trade for him, rather than FA (as we'd lose the compo anyway)? I'm sure Mr. Dodorro wll be perfectly reasonable.

Perhaps there's a way we could have both our backs scratched, especially given we may want points in 2024 rather than higher picks with Welsh coming through.
Dodo will want to try and pull a “Daniher” like trade with us..

where they worked with Brisbane to ensure Brisbane gave Joe Daniher a 2 year deal at $825k a year so they got the band 1 compo pick.. only to have Brisbane renegotiate it a year later to make the deal longer and on less money a year overall.. all agreed before hand of course.

and of course the AFL “investigated“ it and said.. “move along, nothing to see here”…

blatant and utter cheating of the free agency rules.. all “investigated“ by The VFL.. corruption, nepotism and cronyism at its finest. The Mafia would be proud of how this League is run.

if Dodo can’t get us to do that, because we will be very gun shy on any draft/free agency/salary cap rorting, he’ll probably match, ask for a trade and demand our first rounder..

Actually.. maybe we should just forget about Redman..

Redman and Day would be pretty much a perfect off-season for us (assuming we get Day to be a mid)

Maybe try to get BZT from the Bombers, too (has been showing good signs as a KPD)

why not do a deal like that with Essendon and then once its signed off, we just renegotiate Redmond to a 4 year deal on something like 550K per year..I mean Brisbane did that with Daniher after he was traded to them so if the AFL don't like it we just point at Brisbane and say you let them do it

luko oozes Jack Watts.
He's skillul for sure, but a super soft boy who's just not that good.
Not even a private school boy so not sure what his excuse is.
Perhaps it's just a job for him and he doesn't care too much.
Did anyone on here foresee how bad he would turn out to be?
Doubt it..

2020
SSP:
Ayce Taylor (Delisted in 2020)
National Pick 2: Riley Thilthorpe – 6
National Pick 11: Luke Pedlar - 5
National Pick 25: Brayden Cook – 4.5
National Pick 28: Sam Berry – 6.5
National Pick 38: James Rowe (Delisted in 2022)
Category B Rookie: Tariek Newchurch – 2.5
Category B Rookie: James Borlase – 2
2021
SSP:
Nick Murray – 5.5
Mid-Season Pick 4: Patrick Parnell – 4.5
National Pick 6: Josh Rachele – 6.5
National Pick 36: Jake Soligo – 7
National Pick 44: Zac Taylor – 3
Pre-Season Pick 4: Luke Nankervis – 2.5
2022
Mid-Season Pick 4:
Brett Turner (Delisted in 2022)
National Pick 17: Max Michalanney – 4
National Pick 43: Billy Dowling – 2.5
National Pick 50: Hugh Bond – 2.5
SSP: Tyler Brown – 4.5
SSP: Mark Keane – 3.5

The Crows have nailed some high draft picks in recent years and have also found a few gems among the rough. Key forward Riley Thilthorpe is being tipped to produce some “more consistent performances” this year after a big pre-season, while Jake Soligo is seen as a player who could be a “big improver” this year and Josh Rachele could spend some more time through the midfield after taking the competition “by storm” as a forward last season. The Crows could “reap the rewards” of Collingwood’s decision to delist Tyler Brown last year, given he is the type of taller inside midfielder that Adelaide is crying out for.

Terrible rankings.

Tyler Brown higher than Max Michalanney? And same tier as Patrick Parnell? He played one absolutely abysmal game for us, should be a 0 if they're going on exposed form so far

Josh Rachele at only 6.5 makes me think they haven't watched any Crows games and are only going off stats. I assume they have given a player like Nick Daicos a 10

To be fair Daicos has produced a lot more than Rachele in his career thus far, considering he won the rising star last year and Rash petered out

But I’d give Rash at least an 8.5

Clearly recruiters didn't see any deficiency in his competitiveness when he was playing in the SANFL as an underage, guessing it's the "no pressure" playing as a professional footballer up there has negatively affected him.
Rankine left just in time it seems.
And came to a bigger basket case 🤦

He has but a 6.5 is only slightly above average when they are setting the best player to 10

If they only gave Daicos an 8 it would be easier to justify

It’s why I’d give Rachele 8.5 or above, like I said (assuming Daicos is 10). The gap is there, but it’s not close to a gaping difference

If we’re taking into account value at the given pick, I’d have Soligo a bit higher than a 7 (and a few others higher, as well). Pretty weird ranking system, honestly

I'd chase Sean Darcy post haste .....

As for the Dockers’ forward line as a whole? “Disastrous. It’s been an absolute disaster,” Cornes said, before singling out Jackson.

“I didn’t think it would be this bad … 12 and 10 disposals, he’s taken one mark in two weeks.

“Clearly his ability to win and follow up clearance was to his advantage but that has disappeared. He hasn’t been effective when he’s gone forward.”

Cornes said the flow-on effect for Darcy was considerable, leading to significant question marks around the one-two combination.

“I feel like they’re getting in each other’s road when they’re forward,” he said. “Jackson has never been a natural forward, he doesn’t look like it and I feel like Sean Darcy may have to look for another home at the end of the year because he’s a ruckman, he’s not a forward.

“Fremantle need a forward and they’ve got two ruckman that are sort of cancelling each other out.”

Himmelberg for Darcy

We need to target Day and use him in the midfield, I reckon he can develop into a serious midfielder.

Then draft a midfielder in the draft which is a non-negotiable
To think we could have traded down and collected at least an extra 2nd rounder and drafted him or Pickett.
Problem is he's a bit to tall for our midfield unless he's pick 40 onwards

Seriously clueless rankings.

Just confirms he knows very little about our club or is just stupid.

At least the Victoria media are finally aware of Soligo but Rachele is rated as only 6.5 lol.

Bigger.....?? You clearly don't know the history of the GCS lol.
I know we are nice to them and they don't reciprocate
After they took Bock we gave them Lyons, Wigg, Atkins, Greenwood for peanuts then they play hard ball with Rankine while giving pick 7 away to the premiers. Absolute madness
