I think it’s fair to question intel when it doesn’t really make sense. If C2C says that he spoke to Petty personally and clarified the street, then fair enough, but even then why would the player himself mention that to a stranger yet?

Well obviously. The way he has put it across - and on a couple of threads has been very confident on it, even if it seems unlikely, suggests he has spoken to him or someone in the know.

And assuming that’s the case - he shouldn’t say specifically where he heard it

But I come back to just take it for what it is - put your opinions up about what you think is most likely but you don’t have to be so dismissive of what other people put up - particularly at this time of year

So if we upgrade Murray and Parnell, we are left with 2 free spots to either draft or trade players in. Not ideal

We are linked to Chol, Hayward and Petty. Plus we have a good first round pick to use and some good early 2nd rounders.

So ideally we need to free up another 2 spots. That let's us bring in 2 experienced players out of the 3 mentioned above, and then bring in 2 kids through the draft.

Some tough calls need to be made still, Borlase needs to be delisted and then added to the rookie list. Parnell may have to go the same way and then potentially Hamill too. Himmelberg leaving will help with this if he does go.

Sloane and Murphy should be delisted and rookied. Nobody is going to snare them and even if someone did grab Murphy, we’ve only blown the difference between base and his contract. There’s 2 spots.

Most wanted clarification of ' I saw him in a moonboot on Olympic Boulevard ' and how that translates to ' he is coming to the Crows '

If he re-stated ' I am confident Petty is coming to the Crows ' people might ask on what basis but mostly left it alone

Adelaide had Ed Curnow, not Charlie Curnow. I think you're getting the two players confused.

Ed has remarkably eked out a 221 game career at Carlton (and still counting), but he's never been anything remarkable as a player - and honestly, I don't see any reason for Adelaide regretting their decision to cut him loose.

Charlie, on the other hand, is a 2x Coleman Medal winner, and an absolute gun player.

I think the attitude comes from amatuer clubs allocating their best 22-25 players with the numbers 1-25. Then the subsequent grades get the sets of higher numbers mixed with the old guernseys.

I for one wanted to wear my favourite number (12) and I think a favourite number is what most players would want to wear. I would rather bring fame to an obscure number then one already steeping in the history of a superstar.

Yes thats right. Adelaide Crows players choose which jumper numbers they want so they can emulate their heroes in the Kenilworth C grade.
