Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

If the big name was Mcdonald then im all for it. If Darcy did decide to leave next year then Jackson would go to the ruck and you would be left with Amiss, Mcdonald and Treacy as the key targets. Not bad

Can’t see a single reason why we should play Henry for these last two games. Won’t affect his value. Which btw we should demand Brisbanes first or let him walk. We don’t owe him anything. If we’re not gonna get a decent pick from him we should just throw him back in the draft for anyone to take.
Absolutely agree with this!! Take a stand if they dont wanna pay up.

I see two problems with McDonald. He’s too similar to Amiss in that he’s a F50 forward who kicks goals and not much else. With our setup & Amiss, not sure we need him, need a forward to bring our smalls into it.

Sydney really need him, therefore it’s going to be hard to pry him away without paying too much for a slight upgrade on Treacy.

Why do you think he has decided to leave? He will 100% leave if we drop him for jumping at shadows and being petty.

Because there’s two weeks left in the season and he hasn’t signed. Because every interview he’s given he’s extremely non committal and either somewhat justifies why he wants to leave (But I was dropped to Peel in the middle of the year so yeah…) or stumbles over he words to the point where he inadvertently tells everyone that he can’t wait till the trade request is made public. Because he already requested a trade last year and has probably had his mind set on Melbourne for two years now. Because JL and Bell have declared that the ball is in his court and the fact that he hasn’t signed means he’s probably going to request a trade (which they’re not going to outwardly say).

They need to sit down with him this week and get a definite answer from him-he’s not going to change his mind in two weeks.

Also to take out the injury risk.
He blow a knee out now gonna kill us and him in deal negotiations

Not if they’ve got Naughton in the 50 👀

Non committal because maybe he’s still deciding and all the offers / info are not in yet?

Pav signed long contracts at the end of the season a few times, yet you would have dropped him.

Pav, the greatest player to ever play for this club, is not on the same level as Liam Henry, who has played about 10 good games in 4 years here.

Pav also had the media bit sorted, with line like, “I bleed purple” “fully invested in the club” and “just want to concentrate on playing my best football and the contract will sort itself out”
The fact Henry was so nervous in his response is the sign he has something to hide. Like he’s already gone but can’t tell anyone yet.
