Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

if we lost Sean and got a top three I could now be swayed by that small forward

Not me, we’d need a mature ruck who can shoulder most / all of the season as first ruck. Having Jackson as the 1st ruck is a waste of his talent.

I’d also want that to 2/3 winger / small forward. Durrsma seems the best of the lot.

yes, and? Which Mature ruck are you using pick 3 on?

I wouldn’t trade Darcy. Too talented.

If we were to trade him, I’d want pick 2 and both end of first round futures.

I’d trade a future first round for a future ruckman. Which one? No idea…

we have three ruck men on the list. We don’t need more. We need the coach to play Reidy and Knobel. Reidy could be a Darcy Cameron

If Darcy wants to go, this is the year and we squeeze North for everything., and we fill the gaps elsewhere.

an elite small forward just won the game for Collingwood. The smalls almost won the game for Brisbane…

we need an inside out midfielder hi can break the lines, a winger…

I’d seriously look at Preuss from GWS to be the big monster ruck, out of favour and could shoulder 80% of the ruck allowing Jackson to play his unicorn role. Would only cost about pick 40.
With the top end pick we get for Darcy, either Curtin, Duursma or Watson. Watson being a small forward would bring the most immediate improvement to our team, however Duursma I think will be the better player.

I wonder what it would take to get pick 1 from West Coast in this scenario?

I thought Preuss has some sort of knee issue that won’t improve.

We keep talking about picks, look at what Collingwood has done over the last two years - identify needs and go get them. They brought five mature guys in, 4 played in a GF, and would have been 5 if McStay didn't get injured. We get so fascinated with kids, maturies can make a huge impact to.
Easier to lure players as the biggest club in the league in central Victoria vs the smaller Perth team on the other side of the country. We’ll never be able to recruit players the way they do.

Yep we aint winning a GF on just drafting we need to trade in to have any chance.

We’re always one of the most active teams during trade period though. Yet despite all that the bulk of our talent have come from players we’ve drafted. Collingwood on the other hand have 3 AAs this year from f/s picks and then quaynor as an NGA. That’s where the discrepancy lies. It bails them out when they trade their future picks and then finish bottom 2 and when they have to salary dump players because they mismanaged their list so poorly.
