Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

The Henry deal is one that has a small but real possibility of with him ending up at another club via the PSD. Freo has every incentive in the world to hold out for the very greatest amount of compensation Saint Kilda is prepared to offer short of walking away. If they misjudge what that amount, well there you go.

I think that this time SOS will be the one to fold. Although what constitutes folding will be unlikely to satisfy everyone in here.

That is a ridiculous low ball. I am not one to let players walk to the preseason draft, however let him go to North if we cant get a second rounder at a minimum.
freo have put to much time into him for him just to let him walk for nothing, F2 id be ok with

SOS won't botch the deal. What that looks like is debatable though.

Saint have committed to Henry. He's nominated them. They have to get it done, or he'd look like an absolute fool.

No thread of PSD. North would take him before Saints had a pick.

The deal will get done.

Nothing to worry about, remember the first offer the Saints gave for Hill?
We need at least a second rounder.
I think Walls could really do some magic with 2-3 picks in that round.

This. Probably will be left till the last hour, and we don’t have to worry about it. They do.

no surprises saints only want to offer F3 for Henry
no doubt both clubs will meet somewhere in the middle by the end of trade week
Got a link? Honestly, the media stuff on the clubs positions during trade radio should really be taken tongue in cheek. You don’t get clicks and engagement from saying everyone is playing nice.

St Kilda will attempt to lure Fremantle’s former top 10 pick Liam Henry with a future third-round pick as trade and free agency discussions ramp up post-grand final.
Henry is St Kilda-bound after choosing Ross Lyon’s side over Hawthorn, but the Saints are determined to retain their full 2023 draft hand to continue adding elite young talent.

The Dockers will ask for at least a future second-rounder for a player taken at pick 9 in the 2019 national draft.

But given he is their only departing player of any note, they can wait until deep into the trade period to attempt to secure a better selection than any early St Kilda offer.

St Kilda has picks 12, 32 and 51 but will be hopeful of at least an end-of-first-round compensation pick if Jade Gresham departs for the Dons.

Why can't it be Treacy?, you're expecting him to double his output tbh

For reference McDonald kicked more goals this year than Treacy has kicked in his career
It appeared that attract played a very different role that often led to him blocking for others. He dropped a number of gettable marks in good scoring positions that would have seen him boost his output. He will need to develop further next year but McDonald is not an Amiss type in my mind.

McDonald is more an Amiss type player that is.

McDonald is a Hawkins type

Amiss is a Cameron type

Put the 2 together and you have the makings of a premiership forward line

I’d be surprised if there’s any truth to the future 3rd round talk - saints know that is Miles off the mark and plain rude.

Id like a pick around 20-25, but expect around 30

Well it’s not surprising is it?… we gave acres away for that so why wouldn’t saints ask for the same from OOC Henry?
Yes I know circumstances a bit different but that’s the way St kilda will be approaching it.

You reap what you sow

said it numerous times previously.
SOS and grubby are going to be pricks to deal with.

We’re a pushover club when it comes to OOC players and those two VFL dinosaurs will push us all the way in this deal

Reckon there’s going to be quite a few people get a reality check when they see what we end up accepting for Henry
Circumstances are vastly different. Henry was a top 10 pick, and Carlton had a pick very early in the psd. We also offered acres minimum wage.

Seems like bullshit to me but I like this guy a lot. Would be very interested if we could tempt him over. Don’t believe it’s true however
The source that account got it from (i don't know if it's an exclusive or if they pinched it off a legitimate trade article) mentioned that he may on be other market and that we were one of about 7 clubs that were interested.
