Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

How many forwards do we have who are good marking above their head?

Looking at Collingwood they have 5 of there forward 6 who are dangerous.

Elliot, Johnson, de Goey and even Hill are good in the air and when the ball hits the ground.

I don't think we have anyone except Sturt and we don't pick him

Because Banfield is soooooo much better

If we could turn back and take amiss and JVR then Johnson doesn't slide to us imo

But then goater is maybe there anyway but jeez it's an interesting alternate reality thing to think about
He probably still would but we’d lose Erasmus. Is interesting to think about. Hopefully we can lure him back home.

Erasmus is definitely gone to wce but dees were hot on Johnson, if JVR isn't there then they take him imo

But there are so many sliding doors scenarios that change the draft that you just can't know for sure

I remember on draft night really hoping that JVR would slide, it got to dees and was hoping the mail on Johnson was right as JVR would get past Sydney (didn't think Johnson would but they reached on Gussy Sheldrick instead)

Was so sad that jvr didn't make it through but wrapped that Johnson eventually did

Oh yeah totally. Johnson is something very special indeed.

Would you play him up forward or down back?
At the risk of stones being thrown at me, you'd have a choice of putting Cox up forward or McGovern. I know some hate the idea of Cox going up forward but I've always been a fan. Now imagine adding Pickett this year as well

If Brennan Cox says Adelaide has offered me a godfather offer and put their first round picks on the table this year and next with McGovern potentially available as a free agent it would force a consideration there.

As gross as it is, McGovern as FA and Cox into Naughton would make us much better on paper

What's Cox worth to a SA team?

Top 10 pick? 10-15?
Given the state of Adelaide's defence, I'd imagine he's their absolute number 1 priority.

I dont think he's going anywhere but Adelaide have to be chasing stupidly hard - he's exactly what they need

I wouldn't have thought he'd be going anywhere, but if our struggles continue and we miss the 8 this year, a multi year contract worth north of $750k pa could make him think long and hard about leaving.
