Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

saw a snippet from Corbett tonight, and if that muppet keeps playing Sturt and Amiss we’ll be better off…
Freddy is ok…frustrating though.

need to replace Walters and Schultz….going all Salim here, but he was ******* horrible last night

Should be able to get something decent with the North second. They will still be bottom 4
The amount of times the ball slipped through Freddy's hands yesterday when he was going for the ground ball...

I'm withholding most judgements on players purely because the whole team is dog**** it is hard to tell how much is form, how much is lack of ability and how much is JL setting them up to fail.

Ratten->Lyon or Rutten->BScott is all you need to see to understand how the latter can distort the former 2.
Well this is largely the same team that won 15 games and a final last year. I think it's very clear that this is on the coaching.

yup…he’s normally not too bad in that regard…he does some amazing things then a bucket load of shit..,but good for a goal or two a game, sometimes more, and we need that, and he’s quick…

I’m ok with Jackson. You can argue on the price.

the age profile of the list and him will cushion it…and he will improve.

We need a laser focus on needs now…Big bodied mid and small and medium forwards.

The coach has to go.
The coach has to go?? freo finished 6th last year, now want him sacked after 6 games... crazy talk

yeah maybe. Schultz lack of a left foot, and his basic skills killed us tonight…turnovers and out on the fulls.
He may be a spud, but I have no confidence calling it. We're making Andy look bad, that's how poorly we're going.

Yes I think a decent % is.

haha surely, he'll get some time to turn it around... no one was saying this 6 months ago... people need to chill.

no way the club will sack him this season

It’s debateable though, last year was very much two halves. First half of the year we were electric. 2nd half not so much. If you look at the 2nd half of the year and the beginning of this year we are very much mid to lower table team. We’ve seen Collingwood go from 3rd last to 3rd also missing their first rounder. Lose a 1st rounder in Henry for bugger all, and still they March on.

It’s the coaches, we haven’t had a good one since Ross in 2012-2015 after which he was completely stale and useless. The rot set in 2nd half of 2015.

These dick heads in management always have their eye on the short term because their employment relies on it. We’ve suffered short sightedness too many times. Trying to take short cuts and it’s happened again.

Snuffaluphagus re our discussion about KPFs and mid/forwards. You never answered the Jackson question. Is it true that you don't think he is our difference maker (that's substitutes for the lack of the KPF/mid forward)?

If so, how could you ever justify chasing that player? Leave aside we didn't know it was for pick 3,13,20 at the time and instead thought it was 13,13,30.
I mean in the context of that discussion aren’t you talking about a top 10 player? He doesn’t have to be a top 10 player to justify trading for him, does have to be AA though and I didn’t like the amount we paid regardless of the final outcome. It was extremely weak and arrogant to give them them the future 2nd

So I need to clarify then.

a) Even if we kept the 2nd, you were ok with two first rounders?
b) You genuinely believe we are ****ed unless we get another KPF and/or generational players
c) Jackson isn't a generational player
d) First rounders are almost the only way to get those players we need (unless you get REALLY lucky on FA).

You still wanted Jackson?

Also, what currency were we to use in this situation to get b)?

Bell should go with the list management.
Should’ve left with getting Hogan. Then should’ve left with trading Hogan. Now he should leave getting Jackson, not keeping Logue Acres and top it offers give JOM a 4 year contract. Didn’t want to give money to the two yet OMeara is 29 and gets a 4 year deal. Guy is a bust not even 6 games in. What a * up

Silently the worst off season for 10-15 years.
Not a Bell fan but he did not want Hogan. It was Rosich and Ross Lyon seeking a sugar hit. Everything else you say I agree with.

Thank f@#$! Some of our posters on here aren't list managers.

I had so many arguments on here when people were calling for Sturt to be delisted last year - at the time I was saying what a non sensical list strategy that was - but according to some, even though we were bereft of a tall, straight kicking, mobile forward who can run like the wind, they wanted him off the list because he wasn't kicking 5 goals in the WAFL every week.

yeah it was bemusing.

This going to ground to pick up the ball rather than bend over to get it is the latest garbage the players have managed to come up with. They mostly lose it anyway and they have completely taken themselves out of the game.

Most of the people on here didn't want Lobby, soft, weak. Didn't rate Logue, reckoned Acres was a spud but all of a sudden they are saying that, them leaving, is the reason we are losing.

Don’t want to rag on the poor guy but the Wagner pickup doesn’t seem great.

Clearly we thought we already had all the pieces to top up with a 26yo state league player. He’s no upgrade on Wilson imho.

I hope Emmett turns out ok but was he really setting the SNAFL alight or just dishing up Banfield/Shultz numbers?

Wasn’t impressed with the JOM deal at the time but then convinced myself he could still give us up to 100 solid games. But it ain’t looking great so far.

It just screams poor list management. As others have said, it looks like we’ve been drinking our own bath water and just expected it to happen this year. Concerning.

That’s not list management, JLo wouldn’t play him.
It’s the same with Erasmus and Treacy.
Then we have 3 genuine medium forwards and they play Fyfe with a busted foot?
Johnson should have been playing all year.
I could go on but like the team it’s made me feel sleepy.

What did Corbett do wrong? Ball barely went down and when it was in his direction he took some good marks.

I have been saying all year Amiss, Sturt and Corbett should be our 3 fwds. Make Jackson a tall winger.

We went with the ones that succeeded last year. Not that surprising. He is filtering through the changes now. Sturt should have played round on though.
