Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

Arces shuttle ran from end to end all night. Barely impacted a contest and worse was frequently not providing the outlet to midfield stoppages a team normally needs.
Equally those runs allowed him to get on the end of two. He's not a bad player but letting a B grade winger go for C grade price is not going to effect us materially long term.
And this is from someone potting Bell well before it was fashionable.

I’ll give him some slack because his shoulder was ****ed, but the wrist slashing is humorous to say the least

You can forgive and celebrate your own player when they do nothing all game but then kick the winning goal.

I just find it a bit dumb for this to be a game people have a sook over losing Acres when he did nothing all game but was in the right position to take an uncontested mark.
Actually was okay all game. Kicked 2 goals, in a game that only had 19 goals.

I’m not a vocal abuser of players, never have been - maybe a little on Hughes - no genius hindsight here, yes he butchers the ball - nothing to do with the goal kicked tonight- I see him as a mistake letting him go at Freo
So do I. But I don't know what the thinking behind it was. Sounds like they wanted him short-term but had other ideas longer term. I would rather Freddie anyway. Our midfield is too slow. All our speed is forward and behind the ball. It only looks bad because of NOD. Plus we already have enough poor kicks in the team. It is ruining our transition efforts. We need to weed out the poor kicks in our B and C grade levels.

It’s the fact that Fremantle having finished 5th, into a semi final then traded a player to a team 9th and needing depth. Carlton now go into a prelim with Fremantle having no depth now, with Henry wanting out.
It’s a bad look. Carlton paid third round pick for an improvement in their list. Fremantle shouldn’t be in the business of helping clubs thereabouts.
Eh. We overpay incoming players, we get lowballed the other way.

Hahaha wow, getting clowned on by Mitch Cleary. He's right of course but sheesh.

There's no doubt it looks like a very average decision so far, I don't understand the pile on from our side though.

When you're in a position to make decisions it's inevitable you don't get them all right.

Just to be clear though, we aren't a feeder club. Some really smart guys on this board that use big words in their posts told me this, so it must be true.

Brad Hill got us Serong or Young ?
Ironically it’s his speed and kicking we need now…extracted value but bugger me another WA boy leaving to go to Vic…

It’s gone so wrong though.
Acres stays, Henry stays in Peel developing. Instead players and their managers force the hand.
Henry goes when he was very much clearly gone last post season not this year.

The one that will hurt is Neale. Nearly 10 years to the day and he’s one week away from another GF.

That's them. It has nothing to do with us. We aren't responsible for some young people's preference for Melbourne over Perth. The people we have that enjoy Perth have stayed.

Won’t be what’s shown we they recap Carlton’s finals run..
It’ll be him in the final moments
Which is the most infuriating part of all this. Carlton winning is bad enough but they have to do it with their opponents kicking 9.14 and 9.17, everything going their way with the umps, and Acres of all people being the one to kick the sealer in both games because of their oppos poor defence. And both of Acres winning goals could have just as easily gone to his teammate a couple of meters away. But literally everything is engineered to a t to make it as painfully infuriating as possible for me.
