Sounds like Ben is going to Hawthorn, for a ridiculously large contract that we wouldn't be remotely interested in.Fisher & Dow for McKay? Not all that interested in E. Hollands, think we got the good one...
His brother is on heaps & he looks the same, so he should get similar $I know I keep repeating myself, but what is it I'm missing about ben ******* mckay?

It's not so much about him, as the dearth of key defenders, and the resulting very high demand.I know I keep repeating myself, but what is it I'm missing about ben ******* mckay?

oh I miss the halcyon days of Karl Norman &Co. Never a dull day.Which is exactly why I when I first mentioned the interview I said I wasn't surprised.
I think his closest friend at the club was Brad fisher, another who may have mixed feelings about the way the club ended his career.
There were finals... Just not the qualifying kind...speaking of which....Sometimes a job is just a job. To many footballers this is just a job, and when you move on there's no real emotional ties left... Especially when you never experienced any real success.
So a Dusty or Toby Green . Lets get Nick to grab one (probably from freo)Half forward is an interesting position. We are OK here but not great. Fogarty is a good pressure forward but kicking is suspect and rarely kicks goals. Cuningham is a bit better.
Where the major value is is the ability to go into middle and to play high and find the footy.
I think a missing piece in our team is a forward who is a really good forward but can go into the middle and have a BIG impact, not just absorb minutes. But also provide pressure up front as well.
The forward/ruck is an interesting one, is it Silvagni? I'm happy with that, he's pretty good at it.
Apparently the best in the league is Callum Wilkie who looked like a 39 years old country team full back playing against Toby Greene in a recent final. Goes alright provided he can get others to help him double and triple team any good players. It's not so much about him, as the dearth of key defenders, and the resulting very high demand.
Chris Scott is asking for a first round pick for Ratugolea!
Crazy times.
It's nice to have the best in the League locked in for 2 more years (and utterly committed to Carlton).
It's a bit difficult that for our 2 biggest areas of need, especially in terms of experience, KPD will be in high demand, so likely anyone any good will get bigger offers than what we can afford, and more likely game time.
And then decent half forwards don't get cut very often.
The 'replacements' will be list spots for draftees, my only issue is trying to turn losing both (combined) into a top 30 pick.If Dow and Fisher are to leave…
I’m sure we could attract (if needed) a number of decent replacements for cheap, that would take unders to have a crack at a flag and to play in front of 90k strong crowds…
We’re a destination club now!
Hopefully by trade week we’ve got a stack of flag-winning senior players who want to have a crack at winning more flagsIm more thinking along the lines of Hodge, Lewis, Smith, Gunston types, who leave their club past their best to have a crack at a flag or move in to coaching.
Players like Guthrie, Boak off the top of my head
No, that’s not right. He just trained with us, and played a game for our 2s.I just read on the AFL website that we are getting this Nate Caddy kid through our academy.....is this right?
Is he any good?
What pick do we have to use?
Thanks

If we’re to go down that path, the player would need to be in a area of need… As good as Guthrie and Boak are, I’m not sure they get a game in our midfield…Im more thinking along the lines of Hodge, Lewis, Smith, Gunston types, who leave their club past their best to have a crack at a flag or move in to coaching.

Is LOB staying?Interesting we were strongly into Jordan & Gresham early in the year. Now things have changed. Jordan is a no but Gresham still a sneaky chance as he will be cheap
Elijah Hollands a real chance
Mid year we were looking at 8-10 changes now it will be around 5-6 which is great. Dow Fisher Plowman Ed Honey definitely gone. Philp likely.
We will add some more kids and a role player or 2. With Salary Cap increases and a number of players off contract next year we will be in strong place to improve list at end of 2024
Cook apparently has been brilliant in getting things back under control
I'm looking forward to Hollands Binns Cowan Williams Boyd Cincotta Motlop Durdin going to next level and making a difference next year. I also like the look of O'Keefe & Lemmey
