Probably not all that surprising that some of the stars struggled in week one now that they don't really play preseason games.

Was more making the point that everyone was bagging him yesterday, I thought he was solid for the most part (apart from the pick).

edit: Jeremiah saying the same thing as me after watching the tape.. though he was solid

Funnily, Hackett called a run play on the Garrett Wilson TD and Zach said **** that, I'm going to give Garrett a chance one on one.

The PA really needs to do something about the artificial turf fields. It's such laziness from the owners and the league.

Grounds like Tottenham's, Real Madrid's new upgrade and in the US Vegas and Arizona have shown that there are so many options to be able to grow grass whilst also having an indoor stadium.

Who knows if Rodgers achilles pops on a grass field, but I do know that the rate of injuries is so much higher on artificial turf surfaces than grass fields. It's not right.

Plus, the artificial surfaces look terrible on TV. Watching the Vikings game yesterday I couldn't help but cringe at how gross it looked.
I like how FIFA mandates any WC nation bid has to have natural grass fields. The NFL is a mafia of 32 billionaires rather than a regulatory board. Not that FIFA is a saint in other areas either.

Not a great day for any organisation if you're being compared negatively to FIFA.......

Chris Jones has a 1 year deal and is returning to the chiefs. No removal of the franchise tag, mostly incentives added and can easy up to 19.5m

Those incentives, a source told Fowler:
$1 million for 35% playing time;
$1 million for 50% playing time (additional to the $1 million for 35% playing time) OR $1.25 million for 10 sacks;
$500,000 for 15 sacks (additional to the $1.25 million for 10 sacks);
$1 million if selected as a first team All-Pro and the Chiefs play in the Super Bowl;
$2 million if he wins Defensive Player of the Year and the Chiefs win the Super Bowl.
He needs a new agent

Kenny Pickett was the Preseason Dan Marino (5 drives, 5 TD) and it didn't help him one bit for week one.

Sure, I just think it's a lot for them to play their first competitive snaps in week 1 and expect you to perform at a high level.

Sirianni has already said they'll play some of pre season next year.

My fearless prediction, with the NFC West playing the East and the early front runners of the NFC being the Cowboys, Eagles and 49ers who will have ample opportunity to beat up on each other during the season watch the New Orlean Saints playing the good old AFC South win the 1st seed.

Playing devils advocate but does the choice of surface have anything to do with how many games/events that take place at metlife? They mentioned on the commentary they had a concert there 2 nights ago, and a game yesterday, I doubt a grass field could withstand that

Of course it is, but it's no excuse. The surface needs to be suitable for the players safety. It's quite incredible when you compare it to the AFL, who even for practice games undergo rigorous testing on the grounds to ensure they're safe for play. Yet the NFL let these guys run around on padded cement and act like it's okay. So crazy to me.

Besides, as I said - stadiums like Tottenham's have systems where the grass field can be stored elsewhere (in this case underneath the arena) whilst whatever other surface they need for that event is on top. Tottenham actually stored their grass field last year and brought out the artificial turf for one of the London games last year. It's ridiculous.

Micah Parson be like……

Obi Wan Kenobi Reaction GIF by Star Wars

Can you pick him for MVP again this week or something?
Knowing your luck that would have him set NFL records for yds and TD's in a single game

The problems are that
1) That "solid" is basically the best you can hope for
2) He can't be trusted to not play hero ball (and do it badly)
