First one to drop.

Ok, so Kofoed is now leaving.

Timing of announcement is ‘interesting’ but the bigger question is how widely and actively will the search for a replacement be?

Masten, as runner and with his track history and our ‘jobs for the boys’ approach, would have to be a shoe in.

The last comment may have been somewhat flippant.

So what has caused the injuries over the past two years then?
Mineral Resources… sustained period of training on that concrete has destroyed them.

So many leg injuries, particularly lower leg. Simple ankle rolls turn into whole seasons out for our players. It’s almost guaranteed over the last few years.

Assistant coaches need to go as well. Game plan does not suit the team
Other way around, the team doesn’t suit the gameplan. We had the perfect gameplan for this list and it got us a flag but footy has moved on and adapted. Now half of our list is redundant because they are terrible 1 on 1 and too slow for the ball movement of todays game

It’s the only thing that lines up with the timeline. Kofoed has been here 10 years and we’ve only had this problem for the last 2-3. The condensed fixtures in 2020 as well as training on concrete has f*cked our ageing players for good.

What's also confusing is we already had Kilgallon replace Stares who was a strength coach last year.

It all stems from the top. It's the board members and Nisbett. Fix that and then there will be positive change.

Current Board

Paul Fitzpatrick - appointed 2016
Elizabeth Gaines - appointed 2022
Justin Langer - appointed 2017
Ben Wyatt - appointed 2021
Nicole Moody - appointed 2021
Terry Bowen - appointed 2017
Rowan Jones - appointed 2021
Trevor Nisbett - appointed when I was a boy

Half of the board have been there less than 2 years- not sure if that’s good or bad

Only Jones (and Nisbett) have prior experience within a football club whilst Langer has high level sporting experience

The board hold Nisbett to account. Can hire and fire his position? Genuine question.

They’re the only ones who can

CEO is appointed by the Board
Cheers. So I don't even blame Nisbett now.. It's the board. What checks and balances are the board doing on Nisbett.

Edit: and if the board aren't capable of holding Nisbett to account. Then who holds the board to account? The WAFC? How are the board members elected?

For what it's worth? what we're hearing in Melbourne is Nisbett is just about done at the Eagles, will be fired by the Eagles board this week, possibly as soon as tomorrow.

His time is almost certainly up at the club, not sure if it means he will leave the club immediately or at the end of the season, he definitely won't be back next year, that's for sure.

Listening to Duffield on Whatley & Kingy and Haselby on Cornes & Buckley.

Both say Nissie under the most pressure from the board. Hopefully true.

Also I said in another thread, worth repeating here, making Rohan list manager after recruiting manager was a stupid conflict-of-interest type move, as Buckley said, it would have been hard to make the early right tough calls on duds he recruited!
