Option one: Chesser > Sheez, hold Kelly a week and field a rookie, hold Jones if he plays next week.

Option two: Kelly (assuming he misses) > LDU and Chesser > Sheezel, keep Jones at D3

Option three: Fire off a boost and go Kelly > Callaghan, Chesser > Sheezel and turn Liam Jones  into either Daicos or Young at D3.
I started 5 premo mids so Hopper would go to M5 and Callaghan M6.

Any thoughts on which option is the best? I'm leaning towards option 3 but not sure if it's dumb to use a boost and three trades so early, someone please tell me if it is.
Probably the boost idea last season I hardly used any boosts thinking I was clever by saving them, till I realised I was so far behind it was ridiculous

Why are you thinking of moving jelly on?
Covered it a couple of posts down. He doesn't have to go, despite what I originally said, but my temptation is to use him to enable me to fire that unfit butcher Clark directly into the sun.

Other reasoning is that it'll give me a bucketload of cash for corrections next week, and I don't want to give up the advantage I have as a result of avoiding the carnage this week by then having to field a Baker type.

Still, will mull it over throughout the week and see.

Only one week with the 26 in the rolling average, so its the best week for it to happen i guess. Think he's worth holding for now. Can't be that bad again

I didn’t watch

Was Fyfe bad or Freo was hopeless with their F50 entries?
Can't pretend to be some sort of Fyfe whisperer, fwiw:
He was unclean by hand and foot, kicking in particular poor
Delivery wasn't silver service, but he didn't cover the ground well, couldn't maintain separation a couple of times, allowed the defender to get a hand in
Got shrugged off pretty easily when trying to pressure, zero chase
Longmuir has shown that he is prepared to leave him forward fulltime, even when they are getting beaten / need a spark in the middle in a tight game.
The last part is the important part for me, the rest you can chalk up to a bad day.
Can he go better Rd 2/3? Absolutely, expect him to.
Big question is what comes after that?

The only way Sheezel doesn't make at least $200k this year is if he has a major injury. He's a must have. I'm willing to bet against him getting injured and just grab him now. Because in round 3 I'll need to make 3 other correction trades.

I have Cowan, Baker, Chesser, Greene, Caminiti, Ratugoloa, Bruhn, Hopper, Flanders and Laird (injured?), all on the chopping block for round 3. I've started poorly, I can't afford to miss out on the best cash cows (and mid-pricers).

Yes a lot can change in a week, and yes round 1 scores only count for 1 price rise, but Sheezel is a freak. It's like Daicos last year.

I'm not bringing in Chandler or Comben who could score 20 in round 2, Sheezel is on another level.
That's fair enough I have to get him in as well. However, I feel its stupid to trade Flanders to him. Flanders played in a side that got belted in wet greasy conditions and scored a modest 64. Personally I would like to see him play this week on a dry Etihad surface. Yes Sheezel is a must have but I don't think getting rid of Flanders is the best option for it right now.

Also I am in the exact same boat as I have Flanders f5 and Rat f6, but don't have enough $ to get Rat to Sheezel

Did you watch the match? Flanders stayed on the entire 4th quarter and got 40 points of pure junk when Sydney gave up. He was unsighted in the first 3 quarters. I think the preseason match was a flash in the pan. I think he'll be lucky to average 70. Sheezel could go 90 like Daicos did. I pocket $55k, which can be used for corrections in round 3.

Ratugolea is my R3, so I'm not too concerned. I have Bruhn, he's also a problem. But his role is better than Flanders'

People like Flanders because he was a VFL champion last year so they are hoping that translates into AFL form. I am with you by the way.

56 from B. Dale is pretty disgusting, thoughts on a rage trade?

I traded him in last year when Hewett went down, reckon Richards has killed him completely. If Daniel moves out the backline he should be aite but with 3 guys there his average is really poor, probably in the 80s since Richards started rebounding more in the last 2 months of last year.

I think he was unsighted in the first 3 qtrs because he was playing so deep forward. Sydney dominated them. He never stood a chance. If anything, the 40pts in one qtr is promising of future scoring potential.

I would rather trade out Mr 60% TOG over Mr Stupid and Sexy.

Out: Clark, Hunter and Bruhn
In: McKenna, Daicos and JHF.

Missing out on Sheezel this week, but if Flanders fails to junk it up again, I will bring him in next week and pocket the 60k.

Leaves me with this:

Next week will be Flanders to Sheezel, and with the extra 60k, I will look to bring in Pedlar or Phillipou, which will get Kentstable off the field.

I'm going to hold Jones ....have studied my side, and determined there's not enough injury prone players .....so reserving Jones spot for Yeo when he gets back

Currently thinking:

Stewart -> POD Rioli (odds are I chicken out and get cheaper Naicos though)
Jelly -> Gawn via Bruhn/Cameron DPP

Puts Hopper + Bruhn M5/M6, Cameron F4 with $106,500 in the bank.

Thoughts?

Could then boost to do Bruhn -> Callaghan, giving me $173,900 cash for corrections next week, or go up to JHF/Setterfield. Tempted to see how Bruhn does against a slower, more contested midfield in Carlton though. Their reliance on stoppage could suit him to a tee and get his cash gen back on track. Will face GC, Hawthorn, WC, Essendon and Adelaide by Round 8 as well. In the preseason game against Brisbane, it was CPs and tackles that got him his points, so the Collingwood game didn't suit him at all.

But in all seriousness, if I were a Jones owner, I would almost be thankful there is a reason to trade him. Watching the game, he did not look like a supercoach friendly player. Do not waste the opportunity to get some extra points on the field this early on. Injuries are blessings in disguise to do a trade.

I have SO MANY other problems to fix .....suffice to say, and quite surprisingly, Jones is the least of my worries

Which shows how catastrophic my weekend was ....with, on paper, a very good SC side

Bringing in Gawn, Daicos and JHF in one swoop is pretty tasty.

Kelly is a one week misfortune. Laird will bounce back. Steele is still class. Cunnington you can allow one more week. Fyfe is coming up for hopefully a good score. Your situation isn't so dire. Definitely not catastrophic.

Next week you may potentially need all 3 trades for rookie corrections with Cowan, Chesser, Caminiti and Greene all looking shaky. However this week should focus on what you are missing from your team, more than what is wrong with your team.

Perhaps look at bringing in Cox or Daicos for Jones, which should improve your structure down back too.
