195cm 95kg.

Maibaum’s stats don’t exactly jump off the page in the WAFL. 10 disposals per game and just under 3 marks. Doesn’t sound like the most inspiring selection.

Wouldn’t be a bad option as a stop gap, but I’d prefer Ethan Phillips from Port Melbourne who averages 8.5 marks per game.

They are equally un-athletic as one another.

unfortunately he is another Aidan Bonar type whose power got robbed as soon as he done his ACL. His lateral movement is poor and he just doesn’t find the footy enough to be damaging.

We have a genuine chance to get comfortably the best player in the draft.

The logic of us paying up so West Coast can avoid a flight risk AND get the WA kid escapes me.

If anything they should be coming to us with offers to split their pick. We have no impending need to make any moves.

If WC wants Curtin then we shouldn't be including Ports pick to trade up one spot.

In no situation should be be giving up 2 to get 1. Especially picks inside the top 20. I’ve been saying for years that we need as many bites at the Apple as possible. 2+15 is more valuable to us than just pick 1 imo.

To get Reid seems like we’d be giving up the best KPD in the draft and another tall option at 15ish. Given our lack of talls, not sure this is in our best interest. However, I reckon Reid, Watson and Sanders are all match winners. Maybe we need match winners more than anything else and can can stock up on talls later in the draft and via state leagues.

All while losing another crucial first rounder..
