I have a few football related issues with Grundy.....1/ I think his tapwork is over rated, mostly bashes it forward into space rather than serves it up on a platter. 2/ No value to the Dee's as been sent back to Casey to try to improve his forward work. Now put him in our team, still needs to work on his forward work. X certainly isn't a forward as well. So what's the point of putting so many years work into X, and then bring in a 30 yo Ruckman after an injury interrupted season for X......he just isn't getting developed. So it doesn't solve anything unless you get a great trade offer for X bring in Grundy and have your heart set on a ruckman in the draft who you think can play ruck and forward, and be the number 1 ruck from 2026 on. Basically means we need to start developing young ruckman all over again. And CCJ certainly doesn't inspire any confidence as either a ruck or a forward at this stage.
If you're bringing in Grundy then you're taking the Xerri development as a sunk cost.

Ideally, if you're bringing in Grundy you are also drafting someone like Edwards and moving on from Xerri.

I'm not sure that our coaches are as low on Xerri as we appear to be.

I agree - hence why I wouldn't be giving up anything of value. I think Grundy offers way more to other teams although if they don't have the money it won't help them.

Can't see Silvagni happening and don't really rate him but would almost be worth it for the lols given the JHFF stuff.

l use to feel the same way however he seems to step up when he is needed and doesnt shirk any contests like some in the club do...if we could get him at a reasonable price l would take him..
