If no one is leaving--
Keep hitting the Draft because we're better at drafting than trading lately.

If someone with currency is leaving (NWM, Clark)--
Target the ex-Sandy boys, Callaghan, Chessor, etc.

We need to aim to make St Kilda FC a Sandringham Dragons holy lands, a destination club.
Outside of paying too much for Hill, l recall our trading as pretty good.

Our issue is that Ratts turned out to be a plonker and we'd signed him for another 2 years, so that was the offering to the player market which is the prime indication of the true industry perception.

I'd suggest that if the team looks better this year irrespective of win/loss, then StKilda will be a substantially more attractive destination than at any time in the last decade.

Excuse intrusion. You got a beaut player in stocker . Carlton fans still love him.

Yeah it's funny how a player becomes a fan favourite but the club sees them differently

We had one in Blake Acres, ironically with you guys this year.
Stocker seems a nice young bloke, hope he can have a career.

Yeah well said Joff . I lived in China like stocks so I kinda get him. He will run straight and hard. .

Don't want to be the harbinger of doom, but we need to take into account a dp haul of two top picks if NWM decides he can't cope with Melbourne life.

I just can't see him going to the Crows so we'd probably have to settle for Sinn plus some change (maybe).

Port don’t have a first rounder next year and I don’t think they can trade a future either. If sinn doesn’t play well this year it should be him and something else

Really should be top of the list getting him signed up if we can

Going to be a very good player

I doubt NWM will leave now we have so many of his SA mates around him. The only player/s I would be trading for at seasons end are a key forward and perhaps a later pick for a backup ruckman.

Otherwise we go back to the draft and keep taking best avaialable.

If you can snaffle a pick#3 who is only 21yo then that's as good as.
Exactly.

We need elite talent. I think where our list sits now we won’t have a top 3 pick for a while so if we can get one through the door another way that’s gotta be good.

As good as it is that we have improved our midfield, none of them are elite just yet

Wonder if we would keep in contact with Fischer McAsey, seeing he has left Adelaide for personal reasons.

Dosent change the fact he's away from his family
True, but every kid gets homesick when they first leave home. He now has a number of team mates in the same boat. Just having familiar faces around him in Melbourne will make a difference.

I have faith the club will turn him around and he will remain at the club long term.

Thought he had signed a 2 year extension, year one being 2022, year two being 2023?
He re-signed start of last year until 2024.

Realistically I don't think we will be able to get him until later in his career. He has made it pretty clear he is committed to the Suns and he'd be on incredible money. He would also cost at least two first rounders so you wonder if it's really the best idea anyway, it will be better to wait until he's a free agent and potentially unrestricted.

Ha ha ha - you blokes must have run out of things to talk about if you're back on NWM being "homesick" and is heading home.
Maybe read in context before disparaging people. The thread title is 2023 Trade and List Management and NWM is very topical in that context.
If you have nothing to add which is obvious maybe not try and hijack the thread with your low energy trolling.

I’ll believe we don’t need mids when we start consistently finishing top 4. Until then keep them coming.

After that I think we need a key defender and Max needs a long term partner that’s near his level which will be almost impossible to get but probably needs to happen.
