Mates with Darcy Parish

We took him from HBF to midfield, and he was OK there, in a lesser way to Jack Steele, or Brad Crouch, maybe similar to Gresham, but now we have Windhager, Owens, and Bytel and Byrnes looking better, he seems to be injured a lot and not really contributing much.time to move on. it didnt work.
we have enough younger talent to come through.

We should go hard for Parish as an FA. Keep draft picks for the draft. Although if Parish leaves the injectors I reckon he’s off to the Cats.
I don't think David King's tiny brain could compute this if Parish ended up a Saints player
Gringo's Battlers that could be his teamAnd a Saints supporter
He once kicked “about 26 goals” in a school game against new outfit Lutheran College, albeit with his underprepared opponents wearing runners instead of boots.
That mega bag contained no behinds with Parish winning “about 100 touches in the middle and bombing it down my throat in the goalsquare”.
Mathieson’s endurance results at the combine weren’t flash but he excelled in the clean hands test and as Turner says: “He’s a natural footballer. He might test average but he doesn’t play average”.
The kid with swagger has excelled at every level he’s played, averaging 25 TAC Cup disposals this year and winning 17 touches and seven clearances in a VFL appearance for Geelong.
Mathieson’s mum represented Australia in cricket while the Saints fan contacted last year’s No. 1 pick and former teammate Paddy McCartin recently for advice.M
“Paddy said it’s all pretty cruisy if you work hard enough and you’ll be right and get treated pretty well,” Mathieson said.

I dont think Dow brings anything that Bytel and even Byrnes dont have.
Brian Taylor said during the game last night that Gubby Allan had been up North for a few days looking at games & players. I wonder who we are interested in up there? Someone earlier mentioned Ben Ainsworth from GCS but I dont think he brings much. The Lions have a dominant VFL team, I wonder if we are looking at someone there Noah Answerth perhaps?
Fair to say Zac’s playing for his career..the fact he isn’t currently playing is a problem for him!Get rid of Jones? When fit he makes our team better.
Put him on a reduced contract at least, he’s 28 so would give him another 2 years before saying goodbye.
Connelly & Highmore are in a bit of trouble.. Cambell is what, 31/32 plus Jones and DMac are perennially injured…Billings should look for a fresh change!!it's getting hard to find players to delist
It's a different case with Zac and Dmac as they're proven players. From what l can tell the only guys on the list with questions over their ability are Highmore, Allison and Leo, so you'd expect it starts there.Fair to say Zac’s playing for his career..the fact he isn’t currently playing is a problem for him!
Proven players yes but they have chronic injury issues! It's a different case with Zac and Dmac as they're proven players. From what l can tell the only guys on the list with questions over their ability are Highmore, Allison and Leo, so you'd expect it starts there.
Of course that's part of the consideration but you wouldn't for example throw Jones and replace him with a 4th round draftee. There's no need to ditch these guys en mass as we need only do the minimum for a couple of years.Proven players yes but they have chronic injury issues!

Exactly my sentiments.Connelly & Highmore are in a bit of trouble.. Cambell is what, 31/32 plus Jones and DMac are perennially injured…Billings should look for a fresh change!!
I believe Jones and DMac contract finishes this year. Would delist them if they cannot come back and play very good footy.I hope all our players can get up and going and have a good season - it would be great all round for the club. It would create pressure on spots in the AFL side and have Sandringham up and flying and a chance to do some serious damage in the finals. If you look at the sucessful clubs in recent years they have all had great depth and a strong VFL side. The state of our list has been so poor in recent times we havent had a competitive VFL side for years. Hence the development has been restricted.
As others have mentioned we simply can't keep carrying perenially injured players eg Jones, McKenzie etc. We cant remain in a state of flux with these players, they take up list spots and important salary cap. If they cant get going and play some decent footy we will need to make some tough decisions. Jones has only averaged 14 games per season (Saints), McKenzie averages 10 games per season. Admittedly DMac may have been in and out of the side due to form, but unfortunately it looks like his body is failing in a similiar mode to Hannebery. I dont know what their contract status is but they should be concerned if they expire this year.
The other up side of having fit players in good sides, is it increases their trade value if that's the path the club wants to take.
