If we could get a second rounder for Billings I would be happy. If TC was happy just to be back up, I'd be happy to keep him. Tom Highmore. I don't know I just remember his first and he was good, and I don't understand what happened

Billings probably gets a third or something at best. Probably better to hope we can get him on the park and if he doesn’t come up delist him after next year.

I believe Jones and DMac contract finishes this year. Would delist them if they cannot come back and play very good footy.
Even though Alison has one more year, if be cant come back and show the club something i would pay him out.
I wouldn’t put a line through Allison quite yet..the boss likes elite runners & he is one!

Highmore, Connelly and Allison - delist

McKenzie’s body possibly not up to it - rookie, find him new home or delist.

Jones’ body and mind not up to it - rookie or delist.

Coffield, Bytel and Billings maybe struggle to get opportunities and therefore after more game time - consider trade but I’d prefer to keep as depth.

Alison is under contract, maybe we could find another team to take him on in exchange for a can of beans or pick 547 or something.

Pretty much right.

The only one I'd argue about would be Allison. Still got a year to run on a minimum chips contract and I think they were getting more confident about him this year so you'd think he will see out his contract.

By all accounts Allison had improved out of sight before he got injured in preseason , he was being touted as marking target in the forward line - unlucky for him I suppose we found Hammer.
I'm wanting Coffield to get back on the park , he is one that looks like a different guy with all the strength and conditioning work he has done - he could be another star in the making under Ross Lyon and it is going to be good where he ends up playing because our defense looks pretty well set at the moment.

It’s very easy to look improved when there’s no games being played. Spots are looking tight and if it came down to it I’d have no issue paying him out to open a list spot.

No he didn't
He ran a good time trial

They said 4 to 5 months for Allison after his surgery in late January. So that puts him back by the end of June . So that gives him plenty of time to make his case for retention.

Not sure if he'll make it but I can't see him getting de-listed until the end of his contract.

Hell I'd even love it if we took sincs out of the backline and into the middle fulltime.
Then that allows coffied and stocker to both play as intercepting, running backs.

Surely after last night I'll start winning over some friends with this strategy??!!

We dont need parish or jelly or anyone else.

The A grade elite, gun mid who we want/need... who is equal parts inside and outside... elite skills and endurance....

Is right under our noses at half back!!

It's way easier to find/develop an elite halfback than it is to do the same for a mid.

Sincs fulltime mid wins a brownlow in a flag winning year for us.
Dare to dream people- it's not that crazy.

We've got a million blokes who can do a very good sinclair impression at half back.

I prefer him playing both roles

I wouldn't underestimate how important he is in the back half and I'm really liking having a deep midfield with plenty of options.

With Steele to return and Ross and Crouch limited to where they can play around the ground, if we tried to turn Sinclair into a full time mid it doesn't leave a lot of room for players like Phillipou, Clark, Owens and Windhager to develop in there

At this stage I'd be keeping him at half back and using him as an impact player on ball just like we did last night

Having almost our best back 6 on the field (Webster/Paton/coff as long as we keep one of them healthy at any one point) has been huge for how the teams going I reckon. Having stability with Wilkie, Howard, battle and sincs probably all played 50-100 games together now. It's showing. For stocker to slot in seamlessly is cherry on top.

Agree great to have him rotate through the middle but I reckon leave sincs down back. Defensive cohesion is unreal atm.

We're trying to win a flag- noting that all of crouch, sinclair, hill, steele, marshall, wilkie, ross, wood etc are all 27+

Developing guys like pou, owens, windy as mids comes secondary when you are trying to win a flag (in the next few years before all those guys are 30+).

Those kids can get a taste for mid action sure- but no way should we be making it a TOP priority.

If playing sincs as a fulltime mid means we are a better team overall now (especially when coffield comes back), then that needs to be the priority.

Well I don't believe moving the competitions best half back flanker away from that area full time is going to help us win a flag

There is no one on our list that I see getting close to matching his output back there

I see plenty of options for the midfield
