Isn't NGA bidding only for like pick 40 and beyond now? Or was it being phased out entirely, I can't remember.

Unless we can our NGAs to tank their draft rankings, it doesn't seem like worth getting excited about. (I know we got Windy and Owens with later picks, but there were extenuating circumstances).

There is talk that they are going to change the bidding system. 40 is to high and the clubs will just give up on it if it stay that way.

NGA access was open slather (hence the JUH going at #1 farce), got moved to top 20 the year we got Windy and Owens, now it's 40+. Basically it's a disincentive to develop real talent as you'll only get access to injured players and longshots. Only possible benefit is if you develop a quality kid and keep in their ear to prise them out at the end of their initial contract.

Solid player but I rekon he's only as good as his effort levels and his effort levels are tied into his love for that club.

If they let him go he'd probably get on a list elsewhere but I don't think he'd be a clearly better player than say a Cordy for us or a Casboult for the Suns.

Silvagni is an ultimate utility player, reckon every list in the comp could do with a player like that.

Personally don't think he gets a game for us when everyone's fit and firing, but that happens so rarely it wouldn't be inconceivable for Silvagni to be one of those blokes who isn't actually best 22, but still ends up playing every week.

Don't think we should chase him or anything, but if he was there you'd take him.

I rate Silvagni, but we have plenty of quality in that mid size forward role and he’d be behind all of them

Wouldn't stress on Keeler, apparently has a bigger ceiling than Mattaes and coaches putting in a mountain of work with him to speed up that process.
