Just on "inside bull rental", looks like Travis Boak is done at Port Adelaide. Not an endorsement, just reporting a potential option.

Dogs are in the box seat to get it with picks 10 and pick 15-18.

Pretty sure they changed the rules back so you can only have the amount of picks on draft night that you have list spots available so GC still need some decent picks to match the 3 or 4 bids they will have.
But don't the rules work that if the bid comes before your pick, then you're next pick gets automatically used. I.e. if a bid comes at 5 then pick 10 would be used to in points. And same again if the next nga bid comes before 15.
It would be much safer for them to trade into next year's first round so that they get the benefit of the extra picks (Rather than just the points)

Does that make sense?

His autism is literally why he gives it out. He doesn't have the capacity to understand how others see his behaviour.
Having an autistic daughter who is a functioning 28 y.o adult and a professional lawyer, it doesn't matter what he perceives or not, his carers, be they parents or others should be mentoring him.

We let our daughter have a free hand re SM, but we constantly talk to her about the effect it can have on her neuro diverse reality.
Also the abuse and insults he spews out is not typically a neuro diverse trait. You can have autism and still be a complete dickhead.

I'd take him as a leader tbh but I highly doubt he has much more in the tank
I do think he’d do well in the Luke Hodge to Brisbane mould. Him or Pendles I wouldn’t mind having for a year or two.

I know not many watched that show on 7, Talking Finals. Joel Selwood mentioned Cal Wilkie and how he's a leader of men.. It's a great endorsement from one of the great leaders the game has seen.
Maybe, but I reckon Lyon would know more about who the best leader is, being inside the 4 walls

It does work like that but what do you mean by safer?

They will still need a significant amount of points in this draft so changing their bigger source of points - pick 4 - into something for next year would make it hard for them to match the amount of bids they will have.

Their is many forms of leadership.
You can lead by actions you can lead by words.
Some lead by example some lead through inspiring others.
To me Steele is the classic lead by example style of leader and even if the captaincy was taken off him he would continue to lead by example with his actions.
I would love to free Steele up from his official leadership title as I have no doubt he would continue to lead on field.
Time for Wilkie to take the captaincy in 2024.

It's a scale though, my wife works with nuero-diverse patients. I'm sure you know it's a spectrum. A lot of people on the spectrum struggle with social stuff from talking over people, fixed interests to outright abruptness. It's fair assumption to make IMO. He might be a dickhead on top of everything but he probably does struggle with interactions.

If your daughter is a lawyer she's obviously very high functioning and hard to compare to a guy who comes across as quite obviously ND. Good on him for doing something he loves and making content. Doesn't hurt to be respectful towards him even if he does seem to be deliberately abrasive.

Correct. Steele was no better than an average AFL mid all year.
The first 2 games of the year he was the usual Jack Steele , then he did his collar which was a car crash type injury and for the normal bloke in the street it's a 8 week injury and he came back in after only missing 4 games - which they have to admit it was way to early and from there on his form was substandard going by his past year - the big thing was even when his stats were up his influence on the game was minimal.
In saying all that I expect him to have a big year next season.

The talk about trading Steele is mind-boggling knowing we have a average performing midfield at best and people are willing to put on the market after having one of his only poor seasons in our colors.

Also we did come 6th this year with a injury riddled list - not having King , Membery and others off and on through out the year , so I would not expect us to fall out of the 8 next year , we should only get stronger with just the development of our young players and hopefully improved form from some of the players like Steele.

Henry will give us more speed and another option on a wing , the thing is who are they looking at getting to improve our midfield because that will be the main thing that pushes us towards the top 4.

God theve been kissed on the *** by the F/S fairy

Brisbane get the other Ashcroft soon and a whole generation of golden era stars with kids coming up. Might be similar.

He's a young adult now so dare say he doesn't get the support others may.

Your daughter is obviously very fortunate to have a guiding hand... Coops may not.

I have no skin in this game, just don't like seeing someone who shouldn't be a target cop so much.

Henry is an interesting addition.

Ross uses the high half forward as an extra wing so might be the right spot for him. Still gives us a dangerous scoring option but plenty of run and dash to help out the defenders and rebound on the counter.
I would play Hill as the High HF (and Henry on the Wing as:
1/ From what I have seen this is the role that suit him best and where he plays his best football
2/ He can kicks goals as we saw against GWS
3/ Going by the Freo Board goalkicking is not what was hoped it would be for Henry
4/ Henry is good out of the backline. Whereas Hill often makes me nervous when he pushes back there.
