Apart from self loathing and self flagellation, I really don't understand why anybody is focusing on Sheil, he is the steak knives to us getting another frdp and we will use a much later pick or a better one with them paying some of his salary.

The gnashing of teeth over something so obvious is either quite funny or a little bit disturbing, not really sure which.
It’s funny.

We were told we were going back to the draft to develop our own talent, now we are not. Sounds like a contradiction to me. Get game time into the kids, don't bring in outside players who are past their best. The stats all indicate he is NOT the player he once was.
Says who?

Trading and drafting are not mutually exclusive.
Of course we’re going to the draft - that is what this is all about - acquiring more first round picks.

Just as we’ll trade using later and/or future late picks for the likes of Dow, Henry and most provably Shiel. We need to find some treasure in the trash of others and we need to find depth as well.

TBH, I can't believe RTB is dealing with Essendon again.

The last time he did, he noticed a deficiency in our list and went to Essendon for a remedy.

He did his due diligence, got references from great people in AFL, fitness checked out perfectly.

Worked out perfectly... for Essendon.

Club has drafted very well with no so great draft hand last 2 years it’s encouraging to see the club make moves. Draft order is pretty well known before draft day, club has either identified players to pick up at 12/13 or are working towards Geelong’s pick 7 or even GC pick 4, we’re going to have a good core of young players next season

Anyway, back to tacos.

Tres a cinco on hosier Ln. Tapas style, pretty nice, a little upmarket though so some of you cats who wear an old Tooheys plugger sleeveless and crocs ensemble to the footy might feel a bit awkys in there, hipster central.

If I was on a date and wanted to distract someone from my beige personality, I’d take them here.

Yeah so pretty much guaranteed to happen again

I reckon we don't deal with any clubs

We just need to..... wait for it..... build robots!!!

Use Sinc's discarded mullet to make wigs for them... nobody will know

Seems to be the smartest thing we can do - focus on ways of getting more or better picks in rather than sitting on our hands and wait for Mitch and Pou to save the day. Using cap space looks like our best shot, even if it’s for Shiel.

Plain and simple ... don't like Essendon and I think Shiel won't be a benefit to our club as a whole. He might be a nice sugar hit till he gets injured again. Then he will take up club resources and focus.

What about the extra 1st round pick the deal will bring. Surely you can see that is exactly the clubs motivation and that the pick will be used on another very talented kid. I back the club in to make the right call and are confident we will get a year or two good footy out of Sheil.

The Lovett failed trade was in 2009 dont you think its time to move on.

Have to balance the young group with mature bodies. Pou was pushed aside against GWS he won’t be running through the middle full time next year

I'm now hearing we are giving up a late pick to secure Shiel. There is nothing coming our way to secure him.

What’s that mean?

"If you are worried.

Has SOS made a trade where he sent a top 15 pick to a club for a 31 year old injury prone player who’s on the decline before?

It isn’t in his M.O

He does however have a history of sending out later picks to see if he can find value in others junk."

..................

This tells me a late pick intended for Shiel.

Radio Mexico in S Kilda is similar. No bucket of margarita and sombrero set up. More the place you go to pay $30 for 2 tiny tacos with barely anything inside it so you know that you're better than the poor. Pretty good though.

I find it interesting that his manager told the club not to put an offer on the table. Wait until other clubs had placed offers. i.e don't waste your time
Was at a luncheon yesterday sitting next to Tom Petroro. While he kept his cards very close to his chest, he did say that Gresh and Matt Bain were having a final meeting yesterday and were crunching all the numbers etc. expect Tuesday to be the day 👍

Nice, I’m playing a Shaun Rehn role - a kick behind the play!
