MONDAY marks the first official day of the 2023 pre-season, with first to fourth-year players returning to training.

The first to fourth-year players currently on the Blues' list are: Matt Cottrell, Josh Honey, Brodie Kemp, Sam Philp

Wow, could not recognise the lad.

windows1 might be the person to confirm, but I’m pretty sure Carrol was a strong runner last year so could have improved again. Good signs if he’s entrenching himself with the top running group

Are we sure that's not Acres? If it's Carroll, and it's towards the end of the testing, that's a remarkable improvement from him. He couldn't run out games.

Oooh, that's exciting. Carroll fit and firing would add nice outside run and contested abilities. More pressure to keep a spot in the ones.

Carroll always had a decent tank, any further improvement is a bonus

Carroll is a good runner but any improvement is always a bonus. If he's in our top 2-3 runners this year he'll give himself a great chance to find gametime rotating from Wing/HF to on ball. His strength is what he'd be working on so he can win more contested ball though. Supremely talented in traffic but at the moment he just doesn't have the ability to push players out and get himself where he needs to be even if he reads the play very well.

Only 1st to 4s forced to show up and it was almost the whole crew.


We have top 4 ability, but now I’m sensing top 4 attitude within the group, and that’s where it can get dangerous for the comp.
