We’re still like the 4th youngest list in the competition, plenty of kids coming through to keep us contending until 2030 at least.

Ashcroft and Fletcher arriving next draft will add to our high end talent. Then there’s Ashcroft jnr in the 2024 draft (he’s in the Vic Metro U16 academy). We’re starting to get them father son kids coming through from our premiership era team. (Freaking more daughters though, our vflw team will be strong. Akers daughter is a gun).

Like I mentioned earlier (I think it was here), Cooper loves getting about in his Lions guernsey.

I guess it really does depend on where the Hodges are living when Cooper is in year 12.
Unless Cooper is a dud he won't be going to the Lions.

I know it'll be 2025 and onwards before folk have a proper look at these names but WA's U12's squad has the following:

A Warner. (Troy.)
A Hough (Harley) as a train-on. (Probably brother of Brady.)
A Merenda as train-on. (Remi's probably a son of Mark Merenda.)

Troy's probably the brother of Chad, Corey and Ashton.

Not sure where they are at atm but these are the North father-son prospects that are around the mark for 2025

Sam Harris (2025)
Kayde Pickett (2025)
Owen Simpson (2025)
Archer Grant (2025)
Kai Schwass (2025)
Lucas McCartney (2025)
Will Crocker (2025)

Enough about the 2025 draft I want to know who are the likely top 10 in the 2022 under 12s (2028 Draft Cohort)... that will separate the wheat from the chaff as far as "draft experts" go.

Kalani White (Jeff White's son), 194cm 14yr old. Forward. Hopefully a top 5 pick on his way to the dees. Has a nice kick on him. Represents Qld.

Jamie Gilchrist is the big one, a star key forward who will be at Eastern Ranges.
Jamie's a friend of my son and goes to school with him. Played at Bayswater Jnr FC in under 12s and he starred in that season... moved to East Ringwood A Grade side as covid hit. He's a star basketballer too, was a member of the VIC U16s team that won the grand final at the Australian Championships in Perth on the weekend.
I was always of the opinion that Basketball would be his first choice, but he excels at basically anything he puts his hand up for.
Looking forward to seeing Jamie run around in the big V in footy.

Jaxon Cooney kicked 8.6 throughout 3 games during the Next Gen Academy showcase games a few weeks back

Leading patterns similar to Naughton and apparently is already 6'2

Cohen Lake controlled the back line in a sweeper role
