This article mentions he turned 12 in 2020. Makes him draft eligible in 2026?

I’ll make an edit.

Might be going early but I have my faves from WA, SA, VM, VC and QLD for 2024.

WA: Lucas Ravenhill. (Honestly, this is a ripsnorter of a name.)
SA: Phoenix Hargrave.
VM: Tom Gross.
VC: Sam Lalor.
QLD: Caleb Nancarrow.
What intel do you have on Caleb Nancarrow? I believe he's an indigenous tall forward from Cairns who boards at Scotch.

Can you tell me about his game? Is he Buddy like in the way he plays?

Haven’t seen anything of Levi Ashcroft any chamber he gets as good as his brother?

Any 16 year old who can crack into the best 22 of the NAB League premiership team has to be pretty good. He was selected as an U16 All-Australian this year too so clearly he's currently one of the best in his draft year. Will he be as good as his brother? That seems unlikely but I guess you never know when there's still two years of development to go. It certainly looks like he'll be a draftable player though so I fully expect the Lions to pick up another father-son selection with Levi.

Early projections are he might be a mid to late 1st rounder, but it's very early at this stage, good signs from him at the u16s and the last couple months at the Sandringham Dragons.

Geez I thought outside of Smilie he was as good as any VIC Country or city and the champs. Looks a star with perhaps even more hurt factor than his brother. Super early days but I was really impressed.

For some 2024 names.

Finn O'Sullivan is the early favourite for pick 1 from my PoV, he is going to Xavier College in Melbourne so will probably play for Oakleigh or Sandringham in the NAB League, we'll see how this ages? :p

Played all his junior footy down my way at Koroit in the Hampden league (won the last 7 premierships) and played a good chunk of senior footy as well. Know it’s a big call but is playing better footy down in this league then Hugh McCluggage at the same age. Be interesting to see how he develops.

Reckon he should have got a game in the later rounds for Oakleigh 18s aswell tbh

Saw a bit of Oakleigh training last night. In terms of u17 boys, the regulars in Jagga Smith, Tom Gross, Finn Sullivan were all doing their thing. Interested in some of the taller kids. Caleb Nancarrow and Charlie Richardson both around the 192cm mark were going well in the 400m runs leading their groups in and both did some nice things in the contested stuff. Heaps of physical development ahead but 2 to keep an eye on.

Reply to myself, Finn wasn’t there, probably gone home as school is finished.

Another one to add to your ones to watch. Hayden Windsor from SFC. Has been out for a while with back fractures I think but definite one to watch. I would anticipate he will be playing some games as a bottom age colt if and when he is back to full fitness.

Ok mate I will keep my eyes out. I did see A Subi kid named Tore Nelson in an exhibition game between Aus indigenous 16's v World 16's or something like that. I instantly thought how did that kid not make the WA squad. But I'll look out for Windsor in 2023....thanks for the tip
