Where do the top up players including the likes of Buzza, Kyle Dunkley, Lcahie Rayner, Riley Greene etc go if they get dropped or arent selected in the VFL team particulalry when a lot of the listed players and rookies make up most the team? QAFL teams? If so, how are they farmed out?

To answer the last question, some of our top ups are ex academy kids who came through a QAFL club, so they possibly go back to play for their original clubs, others shop shop themselves to the highest bidder, with that club knowing they’re unlikely to have X player suit up for them too many times.

The 'top up players' or VFL Squad members are all linked to QAFL clubs (feeder clubs) and in most cases will go back and play at those QAFL clubs if they aren't required at VFL level. The unique part of Brisbane's VFL program compared to the rest of the league is that they have a small VFL squad so it is unlikely that the main players in the VFL squad (names you listed) are not required and it is usually the other way where academy players are required to fill in further gaps.

How many academy players suited up last season, apart from Brain at the back end of the season?

My thinking was, that we probably have enough VFL top ups, so if we are playing an academy kid, we’re probably giving serious consideration to drafting him.

lol, was drafted by Collingwood in 2019 from GWV Rebels. Is a Warrnambool boy, and ex U16/U17 basketball Australian rep. Inside hard at mid.

Only lasted his rookie contract at Collingwood.

Gees, just had a look at their team. They must have picked up every kid who only lasted their initial rookie contract at Collingwood before being delisted. Caleb Poulter stood out straight away.

Our reserves are looking very average so far- as I said earlier, i hope the senior boys are taking note - Dogs are going to be ferocious early.

I didn’t mind it- it was a great goal with a don’t argue then kicking from 50.

Dev might be getting some numbers but he looks off to me. Indecisive and half a step too slow.

Midfield needs to pull the finger out because we can't match their height up forward. Every time it goes forward look like a dog will mark it.

Yes I was expecting Lyons, Dev and Matho to look a bit above this level but they’ve all been a bit pedestrian.
