We have to get over a couple of old VFA stand-alones in Willy and Werribee if we're to make it to the Grand Final, while GC will have to defeat a bolstered AFL reserves/aligned side (Footscray or Box Hill) in order to progress. We may have gotten lucky here. Having said that, on form, we're likely to go out in straight sets.

Yes occasionally we would run Fort, Fullerton, Buzza, Smith and Lane in the ruck. Not great for the young blokes development.

Yes. I like Buzza as a solid VFL KPD and potential break the glass in a very serious emergency afl player. Better as a forward but can play key back in the vfl. But why play him in the ruck when we have two developing rucks? I guess they can’t always play him key back Due to match ups.

Similar could be said for Fullerton (some rumours he is leaving). I guess he is break glass ruck forward back up if Oscar and Fort go down. So has to play that role.

Smith is in front of Lane (imo), so poor old Kalin seems to be an after thought some games. I like Lane as he reminds me of Charman, but he doesn’t seem to have come on this year. Forward ruck doesn’t seem to be his go.

So we have three tall slow guys in the forward half, Fort in the ruck and Lane on the bench. And we have a shortage of mobile KPPs coming through.

It was a strange decision to draft Lane. Don't need 4 rucks and a ruck forward. Especially when 2 of the rucks are a few years off senior level
