Really liked Cockatoo and DMD Jrs games. For me, they were two players who stood out like potential guys who could be used at AFL level. Not necessarily yet, but good form to build from. Cocky looks much fitter and he really ran the game out well.
I tipped DMW debut in the Quiz - IDK, I got to see him perform in person a few times last year and he just has that something that i think could translate to AFL and in fact, i think he could actually stand out more in AFL. Cocky was this fittest today that i think ive seen and really pleased for him.Hope he can get a game in indigenous round - heard hm talk last year about what that would mean as hes never played in thouse rounds even at Cats. Seems such a genuinely nice guy that he deserves it - on merit of course.Really liked Cockatoo and DMD Jrs games. How did Lyons go?

Disinterested. Think he knows his career in the ones is done. Will play a role in the VFL all year I suspect.
DMW read the play very well and took intercept marks down back and I don't believe he was playing as a defender. Has great hands and did well with pressuring and positioning from what I could see. Is a great age in that if he can have a strong 10 games at VFL level he could fast track a spot in the ones. A great game to build from.
Cocky is ready for another opportunity I reckon. He'll be first cab off the rank if a half forward goes down. His strength is a major asset and now that he's got his fitness in order, will really put pressure on McCarthy to perform.

Adams?I only watched the last quarter.
I saw DMW line up on the wing a few times in that quarter.
He looks a likely type in the times i have seen him play.
But he is a Cat B rookie so unable to play unless someone is placed on the LTI list
Cocky did look sharp in the quarter i saw
I believe that rule was scrapped. dlanodI only watched the last quarter.

The last I heard is as Nathan Barley says - still applies to Cat B.I believe that rule was scrapped. dlanod
Rhys Mathieson was electric for the Lions in their thrilling one-point win over Werribee, booting two goals and amassing 26 touches and 11 clearances.
Matho is our Galvonometer after all.Might be worth including Rhys as an emergency for the next home game if he can bring electricity
I am hoping Madden starts to push for senior selection. Great coverage if we lose a runner such as McKenna or Wilmot at some point.A little write up about the VFL
Link to the stats as they are too big to copy & Paste.

The 'top up players' or VFL Squad members are all linked to QAFL clubs (feeder clubs) and in most cases will go back and play at those QAFL clubs if they aren't required at VFL level. The unique part of Brisbane's VFL program compared to the rest of the league is that they have a small VFL squad so it is unlikely that the main players in the VFL squad (names you listed) are not required and it is usually the other way where academy players are required to fill in further gaps.Where do the top up players including the likes of Buzza, Kyle Dunkley, Lcahie Rayner, Riley Greene etc go if they get dropped or arent selected in the VFL team particulalry when a lot of the listed players and rookies make up most the team? QAFL teams? If so, how are they farmed out?
He didn't have much of an impact last week with 11 disposals, a bit off it in my opinion, but someone else here would have been following the Lions boys a bit closer. How is Fletcher going?
