Doubt it. These days, it doesn't matter if all the clubs are after him, if Dev leaves then he will nominate a club adn we will deal with them exclusively, hopefully they have good draft picks. However, l doubt we will get much more than a 3rd round draft pick
What we get and what he's worth are two different things. You might be right that we only get a 3rd round pick but I think he's worth at least what we used on him, first pick in the 2nd round. Maybe even a late first round.

I think we've cruelled him a bit in his development, trying to make him a bit of a jack of all trades instead of a master of one. When he has had the opportunity to play as a pure mid in the firsts he has gone very well, when he's been played as a wing/mid, like Berry, that's when he's looked a bit ordinary. I see him as a player that is in the same mould as Dunkley, a defensive minded mid, that can go fwd n kick a few goals and add some fwd defensive pressure at times. He lacks Dunkleys polish atm but he's only played a handful of games in that role.

I really hope we can keep him and give him the opportunities he needs but that looks less n less likely. Our loss will be someone's long term gain. I can see him at West Coast as an instant starter.

The problem is you waste 3 and 4 years development on these players and have to start same process over again on a similar player starting out.

That’s what sends clubs backwards. It’s a delicate situation with Lions list with probably 6-7 players at least being delisted at end of year you don’t need another 3 or 4 on top of that because they haven’t been managed right via enough opportunities.
That happens at every club, it's not exclusively a Lions problem. Should we have not latched onto Dunkley or drafted Ashcroft when the opportunity arose. Unfortunately that's just the way it goes. Collingwood has done the same, with the Brown boys, the young ruck Lynch that left, and others over time. Should you have not drafted young Daicos because you've put 3 or 4yrs into another player, I don't think so.

It's never a waste to develop young talent, it's largely down to timing and opportunity whether they succeed at a club. If Dev as a player was drafted 2 or 3yrs earlier or even 2 or 3yrs later it could have been a different result for him.

Agree
If we can't keep Dev or any other fringe player that's just part of doing business in the AFL world.
The Lions just need to do the same and find a replacement player from another club also on the fringe.
One that fits our needs.
Easier said than done but that should be our aim or just go to the draft and have a selection.
Every club has different needs going into a new season.

Dizzy "managed". Must be some way away from match fitness

Is Manly worth getting excited about?
We all knew it would be an issue if we had some KPD injuries.
Becoming more important that the three we are currently playing in the Seniors, stay fit.

Eh, the beach is ok but it's a bit overdone these days.
Looks pretty laid back to me.

Not a chance Dev is worth an early second round pick.

Don't mind these wags jackess. Heard a bit of buzz around Manly from people involved with his club Wilston Grange (but you'd expect that). Overaged midfield, but realistically long odds to make it on a list, but you never know.

Not sure if it's been mentioned elsewhere on here, but saw Whiting mention on twitter that Dizzy now has an adductor issue.

Did he kidnap Joyce ?

Why? Not trying to be a smart arse, just wondering with his development (as disjointed as it's been), experience (as limited as its been) and potential, why you don't think he's worth an early 2nd round pick. He's a 1st or 2nd choice mid fringe player here, but could certainly be a starter at other clubs. Given a consistent run in a Afl team in his preferred inside mid role I think there's great scope for for a successful career.
