What we get and what he's worth are two different things. You might be right that we only get a 3rd round pick but I think he's worth at least what we used on him, first pick in the 2nd round. Maybe even a late first round.Doubt it. These days, it doesn't matter if all the clubs are after him, if Dev leaves then he will nominate a club adn we will deal with them exclusively, hopefully they have good draft picks. However, l doubt we will get much more than a 3rd round draft pick
I think we've cruelled him a bit in his development, trying to make him a bit of a jack of all trades instead of a master of one. When he has had the opportunity to play as a pure mid in the firsts he has gone very well, when he's been played as a wing/mid, like Berry, that's when he's looked a bit ordinary. I see him as a player that is in the same mould as Dunkley, a defensive minded mid, that can go fwd n kick a few goals and add some fwd defensive pressure at times. He lacks Dunkleys polish atm but he's only played a handful of games in that role.
I really hope we can keep him and give him the opportunities he needs but that looks less n less likely. Our loss will be someone's long term gain. I can see him at West Coast as an instant starter.
