He had 10 disposals last night which 6 were uncontested and 1 tackle. Him and Rayner not working defensively anywhere near well enough for Brisbane to win a flag.

I think he has had that sort of season which doesn’t stack up on big stage. Hence why I think they need to get that sorted if they any chance. Lohman probably gets a chance now anyway with Gunston injury so time will tell I suppose.
Hardly. Coleman will be back from injury. If Zorko retires at season end there may be a spot for Lohmann if he wants it enough.

McCarthy is our best defensive forward...

Apart from Bailey who spends time up the ground, he leads our forwards for average pressure acts (overall 6th highest at the club). Plays a similar role to McCreery at Collingwood.

We're a low posession team and he's in a low posession role. You're overrating stats my friend.

Yep, I am expecting our 2 oldest players who are both Out of Contract to retire this year ie. Richy and Zorks.

Maybe out 3rd oldest Gunston could pull up stumps early as well, depending on the severity of his injury, 4th oldest Lyons who also has 1 year left on his contract should probably give it away as well.

Shedding our 4 oldest players all of who are not vital to our competitiveness would be a good revitalisation of our list... albeit a fully fit Zorko is still a serious weapon IMO.
I definitely think Rich is done and in hindsight he went one year too many but I can understand why he did go around again and I hate saying it but he’s not up to the level.

Zorko is interesting; at times he’s looked good, others he’s like Rich; done. I am surprised however that Fagan hasn’t tried using him exclusively as a sub which I think he’s be pretty dynamic coming on late. After yesterday, I hope he doesn’t make the same mistake as Rich and go on.

If Gunston is ruled out for an extensive period, he also should hang them up. You could say he’d be useful if Joe or Eric were out for periods but he’s just so darn slow. It does concern me, aside from Fullerton that we literally have no KPF depth on our list which is worrying.

On Lyons, he has another year and does offer something I think. He’s a great replacement if Dunks or Lachie were to be out and he’s basically on field coach for the reserves which given his experience can’t be underestimated.

I also worry that if say all four finished up that it does leave a hole which will obviously need replacing but do you fill them with say older 27 year old stop gap back ups like Dees did with Dunstan or do you go all youth albeit with late picks and or try picking out gems that are mature agees in state leagues?

Weird to see the Lions highlight some bloke who only got ten touches last night.

I think you are seriously overrating VFL form. It's a big step up to the AFL

I love Kai’s potential but he’s never shown anything remotely close to Linc’s current form, and linc has runs on the board and uses the ball far better.

Hope we keep Kai but if he goes then he goes, we move on.

2024 will be his year if he hangs around. Zorko retiring will free up his spot and a big preseason is his best bet to surpass Linc

Matho and JL literally turn the ball over with 80% of their disposals, or make poor decisions. Some of Matho's handballs are like u11 kids getting rid of the hot potato.

Mr Ripper I ended up speaking to a couple of Williamstown players after the game. They came up to Brisbane the day before the game and leave that afternoon. The players have the option of staying up here overnight if they want. They enjoyed playing at BHA arena but they would love to play at the Gabba at least once.

a few QLD lads in the Williamstown team.

Triffit went well, still as hard as ever. and lead the game for tackles. Colenso couldn't get his hands on it, but his defensive work was great and he laid plenty of tackles, only credited with 5 on the stats sheet, but I reckon he had more than that.

Reckon you will see a few more QLD lads at Williamstown next year and other stand alone clubs like Port, Werribee etc. stack of QLD kids already down there but just see it growing more as better opportunities to play VFL every week rather than just top up when required

Yes, but Lohmann isn't Neale's wingman when they pick up birds on road trips...
At least he knows what areas he needs to improve on then.

Maybe if he learns to recognise the advertising for KFC and Red Rooster from a greater distance ... or squirrel out the best local charcol chicken joints? ;)
