I wouldn't say that.
The North pick trade was amazing (stupid north).

But I wouldn't touch trainor the way the afl concussion panels are now he's a Nathan Murphy waiting to happen (nice kid but id be staggered if he plays 50 games). Smillie is a risk because he lacks football IQ and while I love hotton the acl is a worry. Faull is the type of player that in a good side could be a valuable role player but in a poor side might be a complete bust. I think Lalor over jagga Smith might be the worst choice of the lot.

Armstrong is good but doesn't justify the rest.
I was quite staggered they didn't take travaglia or Reid frankly-theyve gone for a lot of risk for a team that absolutely has to nail this rebuild before lassie comes in.

Wow

You sound triggered

Who did the cats draft?

So the last pick of the night before the draft started was 23- prior to all the bidding- and we had 32. So we were going to be 9 picks away from our next pick.

But now that the night is over our next pick is still at 32, and it’s only 5 picks away.

So where did those other 4 picks in between go?

23 got pushed back to 27, yet 32 is still at 32.

Did Essendon for instance not trade away their picks at 29 and 31, prior to the Kako bid?

We traded that to the Saints. That's what your current 32 is.

Yes, those sort of reactions are never good. If I were a Fremantle fan I would not be feeling thrilled right now. Reminds me of Tanner Bruhn's reaction to being drafted by GWS, and he lasted 2 seasons.
You know what I think you might be right!
Reminded me of Chad warners reaction after the GF and we know after next season he’s not hanging around either!!

Will be interesting to see what offers come for the 1st pick on 2nd night of the draft

Shannahan , J Whitlock , Dodson , Gerryn still on the board

Bombers , Cats & Eagles will be eager and perhaps StKilda

Too Bad North cant trade FOS to Richmond for their own F1 & J.Whitlock to pair the twins up at North
Maybe the AFL should make a special exemption

If they were not going to pick a midfielder that they actually needed they could have at least tried useful pick trades (for example North were clearly throwing their future 1st around).
We need talent everywhere tauru is a future replacement for battle and can also swing forward. Travaglia is a very good running defender that will hopefully push into the midfield

Tauru going off this pic and his interview with Dicko is one confident young rooster!

The guy on the right is genuinely either going to play less than 10 games or will be one of the best players in the league in 4-5 years and play 250+ games. No in between vibe.

Surely Melbourne would be looking at getting one of the KPF still left ?

They have Jefferson in waiting. Plus Van Rooyen. Time will tell.

Really hoping one of these tall forwards slips to Hawthorn. Need a long term partner for Clasher Dear.

Swans fans are generally speaking pretty angry at the drafting tonight. It is beyond pathetic how we draft with our first rounders, it having been a problem for years now and it seems to be getting worse. We always reach for players and often draft for positions that are not particularly urgent.

I did have a laugh when the Swans took a player nobody had heard of. Felt very on-brand.

Genuinely thought it made sense for them to take one of the tall forwards still available.

Well we have 2 x low F2’s and 2 x F3’s

Can’t see Richmond and Dogs going tall.

1 of the Dogs picks seems likely.

If Jack lasts a few more picks I’d think the Richmond F2 will be ontraded.
The market for picks around this mark has been set at a high future 1st, by North.

It would be incredibly generous of clubs to give one away for less.

Well not exactly.

There was what amounts to be a end of R1 pick attached to it.

Is anyone attaching a F1 to a club putting that up from this point? No.

Anyone offering a F1 at this point will likely want change imo.

Maybe a Port or Geelong etc. Essendon won’t offer their F1 straight up.

Richmond’s F2 straight up will be very enticing deal for the Dogs etc if Jack lasts 3-4 more picks
