To be clear this isnt a knock on Joe Berry either. I barely know the kid. Hope he kicks 100 a season, and the "two Joes" become superstars in a premiership side for us. Im behind him as a player 100%.

Its the fact that we seem to constantly be looking for the missing piece, needing to fill the latest list hole, and get taken advantage of again and again in our desperation. Here we obviously felt compelled to go best small forward rather than best available, and end up overpaying again. Its poor planning and lack of accountability at the top that has impacts on every other area of the club.

Ever since the 2014 prelim. Ryder then Dixon, each trade “the missing piece”, in 2014 that was a justifiable concept but it decayed into an excuse for not addressing more systemic failures and as part of the culture became one of those systemic failures in itself.
